The county's numbers are not fudged in the sense that they made them up out of whole cloth. They come from the machine totals. The AZ forensic audit is historic. It has never been done before in the US or probably anywhere else.
There could be minuscule errors from the hand-count and the third tally, which will done by machine, 600 ballots at a time. Presumably the two hand-counts jibe. If the hand-counts and the third machine count are off by a few hundred voters, then I don't see the issue. If the reported official Maricopa numbers are off by tens of thousands of votes from the audit's triple count (hand and machine), then that is proof of massive fraud.
The forensic audit is looking at other issues as well. Were the mail-in ballots filled out by hand or machine, copied, not folded, on different paper, etc.? They are also looking at the numbers in each precinct and how do they square with the 667 different ballots that were used in the state.
I am more concerned about the reaction of Rep leadership when confronted with the irrefutable proof of election fraud.
