Arkansas is seeing its highest spike in coronavirus cases in nearly five months.
The spread of the Delta variant has made it a new epicenter of the US outbreak.
But Arkansas health officials are still struggling to convince people to get vaccinated.
Few states have had a harder time vaccinating people than Arkansas.
Less than 43% of the state's population has received at least one vaccine dose, and just 34% of residents are fully vaccinated - among the lowest vaccination rates in the US. That made the state a sitting duck for the Delta variant, which is significantly more transmissible than the original virus or other variants. As Delta spreads rapidly among unvaccinated people in the US, Arkansas and its neighbor, Missouri, have become the epicenter of the US outbreak.
The maps below, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, show how Arkansas' latest surge correlates with its low vaccination rate. Counties with at least 100 cases per 100,000 people (in blue) also have vaccination rates below 40% (in purple).

Arkansas reported more than 1,200 new coronavirus cases on Friday - its highest tally in nearly five months. The state's daily coronavirus cases more than doubled over the last two weeks, from around 290 to 600 cases per day, on average. Data compiled by Scripps Research's Outbreak.info tracker suggests that Delta may account for more than 80% of Arkansas' new coronavirus infections. That's among the highest shares of Delta infections in the country.
Hospitalizations have risen in the state as a result: Arkansas' average is up 42% in the last two weeks, from around 270 to 380 hospitalizations per day.

“Vaccine Hesitancy”
They come up with these phrases.
Delta appears very benign in the UK. We’ll see in Arkansas in about two weeks. The Arkansas spike is small so we’ll only be looking at the difference between 5-6 deaths per day (benign) and 2-3 dozen deaths (normal for COVID).
Someone who is better at this than I am, please help me understand this.

Is that 380 hospitalizations across the entire state per day? How does that compare to the population?
How does this compare to other times?
Is it possible that Arkansas didn’t have many hospitalizations last year, but this year, they’re hit with the evolving virus?
Sorry, all I know is that no one in the media tells me the whole truth. It’s always some shade of a narrative that they want me to think, even if it’s only partial truth. The problem is, it’s always partial truth. Always. They aren’t in a court of law, so it’s just fine to say whatever piece of truth you want out there.

The constant propaganda of public service announcements, the fear mongering, the hysteria, the shamming of those who will not vaccinated is just too much. I think there is finally a backlash against government authority, at least I hope so.

Honestly don’t claim to know - but perhaps the areas of young people in our country getting some ‘delta’ variant will be better off in the future. Humoral immunity builds immunity to all parts of the virus and not some manufactured Mrna spike protein. Seems inevitable a virus can easily mutate around one protein. Anyway, lets hope death and hospitalization remain low.
At some point people will forget where it orignally came from.

In Israel yesterday two media organizations did their own fact checking on government stats about “seriously ill” people.
One found 27 the other 32 when the official government number was 46.
Later the government revised its figure down to 37.
Anyone who is the target of a government terror campaign would be a fool to trust that same government about anything that it says or dictates.
They can't bring themselves to say, "Vaccine Refusal."
I figured out the MSM pretty late in life, when I was about 43. It hit me between the eyeballs. I haven’t trusted them in quite some time. Almost 2 decades.
Sadly, most everyone else in my family still listens to what they say, as well as many friends. I don’t know if I’ve converted many souls to understand how much they lie, which is nearly constantly. Perhaps a few, but not many.
No, I don’t expect the truth. How sad is that?
