Assume this is somewhat true, that the Chinese economy is fragile and at risk to implode. Had our Trump not been cheated out of his second term, and we kept the Senate, the economic pressure brought bear on China could have potential greatly sped this issue up by a decade.

Might not be all that bad (in fact good if Communism were to
fall), but military hardliners could be even more problematic.

Too bad a moderate faction couldn’t spring up and put the kabash
on China’s global takeover.

The issue isn’t China’s modernization and improvements.

It’s its goal to dominate the planet by force.

China has a history of becoming outward looking, aggressive and expansive and then collapsing due to internal strife and unrest. It’s happened multiple times so I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens again.

Xi Jinping is a bigmouth and bigmouths almost always fold when seriously confronted. They never spoke this way when Trump was President because they were afraid of him. Meanwhile nobody fears Biden and they know they can do what they want and he won’t put up a fight.

You all Chines mookabookers threaten Taiwan?
With it filled to overflowing,
What happens if a MOAB hits your big ass damn?
Game, set, match.
After giving the world the China flu, it would be much deserved.
Go after ataiwan?
Hit Japan?
Pay back can be a Mother.

Most of what you see in the UK Express is garbage. However, after visiting China some years ago, I too came to the conclusion that they are like a Potemkin village. I saw many new buildings that had shoddy construction and were falling apart even after 2 years. One “model” apartment I was shown had visible signs of mold. It was all I could do to mask my shock.

Outside of Shanghai and parts of Beijing, China is very chaotic.

China is one of the few countries in the world that has a backup disc, just so long as Taiwan and various Billionaires stay intact. A collapsed China would be a scary thing but maybe they can ride this out. Its a big country, much bigger than one man.

Dream on. The CCP is a hundred-year-old entity whose power is increasing.

No. As much as we would like to believe the author, I think his analysis is doubtful; that he underestimates the power and situational adaptability of the CCP. During Mao’s time and following the disasters of the “great leap forward” and the “cultural revolution”, the CCP looked more precarious in holding onto power than it does today. The CCP controlled military will not let the CCP fall, as Tienanmen Square showed. THAT has not changed.

Article continues:

He explained: “If you look beyond that facade, economically China is more fragile than it lets on. This is something that experts have discussed for a decade.

“The economic model of this very rapid growth is unstable, unsustainable, and major reforms are needed.

“Pundits say if reforms are not undertaken in the near future what you could see is a flatlining of Chinese growth as we saw with Japan in the 1990s.

“China wouldn’t be engaging in the extraordinary levels of censorship and repression if it felt secure, if it felt legitimate, so there will be a legitimate crisis on the horizon.

“The danger of conflict erupting because of an ill-considered move by China has risen considerably.

“Xi has purged senior military ranks. While talk of an invasion of Taiwan has dominated, China may be more fragile militarily than we thought.

“Any difficulty in achieving the mission to invade Taiwan could end in its own regime collapse.

“It could lead to a crisis. He has purged both the officer core and the security services and he has surrounded himself with people who won’t challenge him.

“Nobody who is not approved by the party is given a voice at all and outside news is systematically suppressed.”

This comes as relations between the West and China has worsened in recent months over trade and the pandemic.

The issue of Taiwan is also a major source of tension between China and the US.

However, Cai Xia, a leading Chinese dissident and scholar, recently said the Communist regime is much weaker than it looks.

She said: “I recommend that the US be fully prepared for the possible sudden disintegration of the CCP.

“Xi Jinping’s overly suspicious and narrow-minded personality has led to continuous purges inside the party, which have brought extreme dissatisfaction among the middle and high-level officials. Everyone feels unsafe.”

Where’s the “Oh yeah right” girl. We’ve been hearing about China’s collapse for a decade. I’m more worried about the coming U.S. collapse.

...........if marxist/socialists in China start shooting each other by the trainload my only thought would be how to get US marxist/socialist, i.e. Democrats, to do the same thing.
