Toyota says it will stop donating money to lawmakers who contested the results of the 2020 presidential election following recent pushback over its contributions.
A June report from left-leaning watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, or CREW, found Toyota contributed more than twice as much to Republican lawmakers who voted against certifying the results than any other corporate PAC in the analysis — prompting some to call for a boycott of the automaker.
Toyota said in a statement Thursday that it is “committed to supporting and promoting actions that further our democracy” and that it understands “the PAC decision to support select members of Congress who contested the results troubled some stakeholders.”

What about the democrats who contested the 2016 election?
The folks who run Toyota are not stupid. So this is just another sign that we are drifting towards a one-party, quasi-fascist state.
Do you have a link to reply? I bought a Toyota back in March and I want to give them an earful. So stupid when they do crap like this-—all the car makers are part of the “reset”!
Well, the pols should be supporting American companies, anyway.
Or,America, and Americans,for that matter.
why are these liberal companies making contributions to Republicans? Obviously for corporate oriented legislation. But, is there more? Are they giving contributions for our side to roll over on cultural issues? I am thinking so. This maybe why we have so many rinos and squishes(one Reason). They want the money form these people to take a dive on our issues. I think the day when we support corporate issues should pass.
If these guys want lower taxes and favorable results than the Democrats should spend their political capital on them. We the middle class GOP should suspend our support for lower taxes on corporate and wealthy interests until the border is secure, our elections are secure and we do not have to deal with a rotten corporate media and its Democrat party slime liar filth, and a few other issues. No more nothing from us. This would make these Establishment corporate GOPers listen to us as well.
I don’t know the intelligence level of Toyota executives (I suspect it’s not too high), but it doesn’t require a lot of brain power to realize three things:
1) at least 74 million Americans voted for Trump in 2020
2) at least 56% of Republican voters think the 2020 election was stolen
3) lots of companies besides Toyota sell cars, and I suspect all of those would welcome some 40 million potential customers

Why donate to either political party if you're Toyota, what are they getting in return?
I've never owned a Toyota and now I never will.
Maybe Toyota thinks there’s as many people living in DC as there are in flyover...
Or maybe they think throwing away half of their potential customers is ‘good business’? Either way, might be a good time to consider dumping their stock.
That’s ok. My brand new Mazda CX-5 eats Toyota’s lunch...
How open minded of them.
🙃
I have always hated Toyota.
Perhaps the world will laugh at me, but I love FORDS.
What’s Toyota (and other corporations with similar policies) going to do when the PROOF that the election was stolen comes out from those forensic audits?
And what do they think about this “Time Magazine” article?

Toyota these are Japanese right?
Why are they illegally politicking in the USA?
But they sell their vehicles to jihadi terrorists…
I was trying to decide between Toyota, Subaru and Honda. Guess that narrows it down to two.
Businesses should not engage in cancel politics.
If the American people decide the system of justice, NSA, FBI and others are totally corrupt and beyond redemption then they could end up on the wrong side. Not a good place to be.
Sayonara Toyota san. Bakatari!
