How much do they give you if you DO get the shot and have complications?

“It’s a rare event”, good then it should be within their financial means.

Lots of dystopia movies have lotteries.

Washington State joins the list of other states and agencies that are running rigged lotteries.

Rigged? Absolutely. Does anyone think for even a moment that Washington State would risk selecting a winner that died or was dying from an adverse reaction to the experimental treatment?

You can spend it either on health care or your funeral.

Or stories. Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery” comes to mind.

Does the prize pass on to your heirs if the shot kills you?

No thanks...I’d rather play rona roulette with a 99.6% chance of winning.

The winners will be lucky if they survive the jab without any serious side effects like heart, brain, vascular problems that may last a lot longer than college:

I can envision the law of unintended consequences raising its ugly head as the winner of the 1 million dollar vaccination lottery turns up dead from vaccination side effects!!!!!!

Interesting question. In New Mexico the covid lottery awards winners $250,000. Lottery winners are notified by email and have to show proof of vaccination (I'm still waiting for my notification!). If the state then found out that one of them had an adverse reaction and tried to keep the award from the recipient, there woould be hell to pay.

Dang, I live in a cheap state! Arkansas offered a $20 lottery scratch off or fishing/hunting license. It bombed miserably and they’ve discontinued the incentive

New Mexico has five drawings through early August. Each drawing has four $250,000 winners, one from each of the four corners of the state. That adds up to $5 million dollars. A final grand drawing will then be held for $5 million dollars. Approximately 60% of the 2,100,000 population has been vaccinated meaning that the odds of winning one of the cash prizes is 1 in about 60,000. In some of the four regions of the state the vaccination rate is much less than 60% so vaccinated persons in those areas have a better chance of winning. In other words, vax residents have a better chance of winning a big prize than any other state or Powerball lottery.
