Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy has doubled down on his recent comments, filmed without his knowledge, that the GOP’s goal is to completely obstruct President Joe Biden’s agenda until after the midterm elections next year so that they can win back Congress, Fox News reported on Wednesday.
Roy told Fox News that he pledged to do everything possible to stop the "radical left" and "weak Republicans" from succeeding.
"For the next 18 months, Republicans' job is to do everything that we can to slow down and block the Democrats' radical agenda, and then win the majority and lead," Roy said. "I am in favor of anything that slows down and halts radical leftist legislation, including chaotic negotiations like Biden’s incoherent infrastructure dialogue that left all parties confused.

Why should anyone apologize for this strategy? Better to have no new laws than to have any bad ones pass. After all, the ‘Rats invoked the Jim Crow-style filibuster some 311 times in the Senate last Congress. I realize Chip Roy in the House and his ethical delaying tactics are limited, but more power to him.
Sounds like a good strategy to me. If they take back congress they can go full Pelosi and impeach Biden out of spite.

It’s a good strategy for a constitutional republic. Too bad we lived in any administrative oligarchy where legislation is secondary to executive fiat. Does the GOP have a strategy for slowing that?
He seems to forget two things. One, the the Democrats will take the very same actions he's promoting to block and gum up any Republican plans. And two, the idea that McCarthy or Scalia or Roy are capable of leading a two car funeral much less the House of Representatives is laughable.

At least 20 House seats were stolen and at least 5 Senate seats as well. The Presidency, too.

Chip Roy is doing his job. He has little to work with, but he will fight all he can.
