Do we deserve the government we get? "I didn't vote for this" might not be a good enough excuse anymore.

Here is a popular idea. People like to move from hard blue states like California, Oregon, and Washington to states with fewer taxes and less government control of your daily life (like Nevada, Texas, and Florida).

Now think. How did blue states become blue? The voters wanted what the communist, socialist, Marxist, leftist Democrat leaders offer, which consists of getting something for nothing, turning control of your life over to the government, and ignoring the certain consequences. So the voters voted for the policies these leaders advocate. That's how they got into the government. They got elected.

People vote for this stuff, and later on, they have second thoughts, like "Gosh, how come our taxes are so high?" or "Gosh, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Chicago used to be a beautiful city, and now it's overrun by criminals, scumbags, dopeheads and every other kind of undesirable."

The voters got exactly what they voted for. "But I didn't want that." But you voted for it. "Well, that's not what I meant." But you voted for it.

Or maybe you didn't, but somebody sure did. And in overwhelming numbers.

Now let's look at the future. You voted. You do not like the results of your vote. So now you want to move to a state that (so far) has resisted the empty promise of socialism. And you want more of everything that the hardworking and right-thinking people of that state have (so far) resisted by their vote.

And shazam. In less time than it takes to say socialism, Marxism, communism, leftism, "Democrat," you are right back in the condition you sought to escape. Because you voted for it. Again.

There is no collective “we”.

Those of us who do not, and did not, support the “government we get” are not to blame for its existence.

1) The people get what the people want.
2) They people want what the people get.

Item 1) has not been true for a very long time.
Item 2) is the result of propaganda

We The People do not matter under our current system of government.

Part of the issue is the scumbags running for office conceal their true intentions, or at least get corrupted once they get to DC.

Cash in point: Mark Kelly. Project Veritas filmed his campaign manager saying they were hiding his views on guns because most in AZ are pro 2A.

sure, folks need to research candidates and find the truth but politicians on both sides lie to get elected.

“We The People do not matter under our current system of government.”

My personal experience is that conservatives tend to be older, and are dying off. Conservatives, again my personal experience, are slightly outnumbered and the margin is growing.

The people will get what they think they want. They are stupid, lazy, with a sense of entitlement. They are determined to vote themselves into socialism. We all know that once that is done, the only way out is revolution.

Exactly. And the crazy libs do not realize that the next time around they may not get the candidates they want simply because whoever the wizard behind the curtain is, wants someone else.

Both conservatives and libs will lose their right to choose. The wizard will control the elections.

Maybe, but I’m thinking that it has more to do with voter fraud which has been going on for decades. Decent, honest people grossly underestimate the criminality of socialism and its adherents.

Please go to James Lindsay’s website New Discourses. He has done amazing research and shares it in a clear, comprehensible way.

Communism has never been about equal sharing of things.

Communism has always been about somebody new trying to get into the palace and fly around in the government jet. They get there by convincing idiots that they really don’t want to live in the palace and want to pull turnips with the idiots. Then, they have the idiots go out and kill and die for them.

Our problem is that the nations hostile to us (China, Iran, etc…) have discovered that Democrats aren’t really Americans.

The Democrats are Democrats first and will sell out America for a dime.

We are being attacked from without and from within.

The first thing to do to save America is to get rid of the Democrat Party.

Alas, that won't get rid of the Democrats.

The first thing to do to save America is to get rid of the Democrat Party.

The second is to get rid of the Republican Party.

“The Democrats are Democrats first and will sell out America for a dime.”

True, but we have to understand the root of the problem. The coastal elites discovered they can become rich selling off America one part at a time.

It’s the people with those fortunes that control the Democratic party, and most Republicans.

I think the Republicans might learn and change.

We have to get rid of the Democrat Party if America is to survive.

The big bucks in the Swamp are enough to corrupt the vast majority of folks who go there.

It is a very hard temptation to resist.

Term limits would mitigate this a bit, but the best cure would be to limit the powers of government—oh wait, the Founding Fathers tried to do that...

I think the Republicans might learn and change.

They will only do so under pressure from extreme carrots and sticks.

Bad habits are hard to break.

Sorry about the typo, but I get so sick of the pundits acting like elections are ‘business as usual’ when in 2020 the election was used to overthrow the peoples choice for President.

I recently read an article about three C list actresses that had left LA and moved to Austin TX, they were gushing about what a great move they'd made. One of these actresses, Becca Tobin, made this statement:

Tobin has sensed some side-eye when she tells locals where she’s from, but she tries to put them at ease. Voting and donating are two ways to do it, she said, and she has contributed to causes that support homeless outreach and abortion rights through local nonprofits like Mobile Loaves & Fishes and the Lilith Fund.

“I get it, they don’t want us to LA their Austin,” she said. “My husband and I personally are going to really try to do our best to help out in the community and get involved where we can.”

She says she get's it but rattles off a list of leftist causes that have turned California into the dump it is, the dump that she's running away from. Now she wants to "help out" Texas by advocating for the same disastrous policies that have ruined California.

It's hard to decide if these people are actually too stupid to put two and two together or if it's intentional.
