A golf pro who was gunned down at a Georgia country club over the weekend was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, police said Tuesday.
Gene Siller, 41, was likely shot and killed Saturday because he stumbled on and “witnessed an active crime taking place,” Cobb County police told WGCL-TV.
Cops said Siller, the director of golf at Pinetree Country Club near Kennesaw, was shot in the head when he approached a white Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck that had driven onto the course around the 10th hole. Police later found two more bodies in the truck.

I kinda think it was a carjacking and one of the 2 dead men was driving the truck, the other a passenger. The carjacker was wildly trying to get away from the scene and drove up on the golf course. Would be interesting to see a map as how he could possibly leave the road and end up there.

Bizarre wording by the cops. Plenty of people are killed while the killer was committing numerous ‘active crimes’. It simply isn’t reported that way.
Dead men tell no tales. If you already killed two (and have no soul), what’s a third?
So, it wasn’t about his handicap? I’ve known plenty of golfers. I can totally see them committing mass murder on the links.

I’d be willing to bet there is a long list of police, prosecutors, community organizers, and CRIMINALS who were in the wrong places at the wrong times. I’ll bet the victim was exactly in the best place at the best time that she had the right to be in.
It is not even safe to joyride anymore.

I thought that at first. But, the owner of the truck - who was found dead in the bed - was a 76-year old man who was in town on business. That doesn’t sound like a drug kingpin.
The other decedent hasn’t been named. It’s possible that man (presuming it’s a man) and the shooter were up to some drug business. But, it certainly appears the geezer and the golf pro had nothing to do with it if in fact it is drug-related.
I took it to mean the killer only dispatched him because he had witnessed the crime, and the killer didn’t want any witnesses.
I have a concealed handgun license and I don’t leave home without my handgun. This is why.
