Larry Sanger, who co-founded Wikipedia in 2001, says that the free online encyclopedia has become “more one-sided than ever” and is dominated by liberal sources in such a way that makes it “an opponent of vigorous democracy.”
“Wikipedia openly repudiates neutrality, and therefore it is shamelessly hypocritical in how it continues to pay lip service to its “neutral point of view” policy,’” Sanger wrote on his website last week. “A lot of mainstream news stories are broken only in Fox News, the Daily Mail, and the New York Post—all of which are banned from use as sources by Wikipedia.”
“In short, and with few exceptions, only globalist, progressive mainstream sources — and sources friendly to globalist progressivism — are permitted,” he explained.
Sanger cited four highly contentious issues in U.S. politics last year, all of which exposed Wikipedia’s blatant left-wing bias: Trump’s impeachments, Biden’s scandals, the antifa/BLM riots, and alleged election irregularities. Sanger noted that with regard to Trump’s impeachments, “The articles are so biased, in fact, that it is fair to call them ‘propaganda.'”

“It is not too far to say that Wikipedia, like many other deeply biased institutions of our brave new digital world, has made itself into a kind of thought police that has de facto shackled conservative viewpoints with which they disagree,” Sanger added. “Democracy cannot thrive under such conditions: I maintain that Wikipedia has become an opponent of vigorous democracy.”
“If society’s main information sources march in ideological lockstep, they make a mockery of democracy. Then the wealthy and powerful need only gain control of the few approved organs of acceptable thought; then they will be able to manipulate and ultimately control all important political dialogue,” Sanger warned.

Leftists destroy everything.
Google the same. Google was fantastic. It pulled out everything, returned hundreds of pages. Nuggets of gold could be found on page 100 for those who sifted through the spam.
Now it is information control.
The co founder should shut the site down.
Need to know about the atomic nucleus or the history of the pencil, use Wikipedia. Need to know about anything with a political overtone, avoid it.
On non controversial technical subjects Wikipedia is useful. On controversial subjects its worthless.
I just learned that Captain Obvious was a co-founder of Wikipedia. That said, I’m glad he spoke up. It probably won’t do much good, but there might be people out there who still don’t understand that the Left controls and patrols the internet.
Sounds like 95% of the internet that’s under liberal control.
“On non controversial technical subjects Wikipedia is useful. On controversial subjects its worthless.*
It’s funny how so many founders or cofounders regret the direction that their former companies took after they left. I think the founders of the weather channel and Papa Johns Pizza had similar regrets.

Time to get the word out on Wikipedia...
I honestly can’t name much that the left hasn’t destroyed.
Such a dumb move to leave in a huff instead of righting the ship, so to speak.
Just found another online encyclopedia. Did it once before. Can do it again.
The first paragraph states:
Parler is an American microblogging and social networking service. It has a significant user base of Donald Trump supporters, conservatives, conspiracy theorists, and far-right extremists. Posts on the service often contain far-right content, antisemitism, and conspiracy theories such as QAnon. Journalists have described Parler as an alt-tech alternative to Twitter, and users include those banned from mainstream social networks or who oppose their moderation policies.
I stated on the articles talk page that I believe the opening paragraph was obviously not neutral. After some ridiculous back and forth, I postulated that there may be individuals arguing in favor, of breaking standard Wikipedia policy, and they might be on the payroll of Twitter. Which is also against Wikipedia policy.
I was immediately banned for life.
Wikipedia is priceless for things like 18th century French art.
Wikipedia is poisoned for anything to do with politics or contemporaneous public policy.
Wikipedia serves an important purpose.
The power elites change their claims and ideology moment by moment. The peons need a place where they can find the latest politically correct view so they will not be canceled.
If they check Wikipedia every five minutes they should be “safe”.
Well duh. How many years has he been in a coma? This has been going on forEVer, it seems.
Interesting. Agree 100%. Friends don’t let friends use Wikipedia. Sadly, computers have students people lazy. It’s fun to research music on Wiki and difficult to research books on music.
