WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Biden administration is pushing for a "compromise solution" in stalled OPEC+ oil output talks, a White House spokesperson said on Monday.
OPEC+ ministers called off those talks on Monday after the United Arab Emirates rejected a proposed eight-month extension to curbs on output. Four OPEC+ sources told Reuters there has been no progress toward a deal.
"The United States is closely monitoring the OPEC+ negotiations and their impact on the global economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic," the White House spokesperson said in a statement.
"We are not a party to these talks, but Administration officials have been engaged with relevant capitals to urge a compromise solution that will allow proposed production increases to move forward."

The US must have a Demonut Government because OPEC is back in the news
How about building the Keystone Pipeline?
The Big Guy wouldn’t have gotten his 10%.
We do not want an “OPEC solution.”
We want them to keep undercutting each other.
Way to go out on a limb and encourage a comprehensive solution.
Our words mean nothing until we start pumping our own oil.
(I meant compromise.)
That and the way fed.gov is flushing the dollar down the toilet made it seem like a no-brainer. Crude always goes up with inflation.
I actually didn't want to *have to buy oil, but the writing was on the wall. Bad leadership had consequences.
Dumb a**
Cheap energy means commerce, manufacturing, employment and in general a competitive, vibrant economy.
Throwing pipelines away results in the opposite.
Its intentional.
They would rather be on their knees in front of OPEC rather than be energy independent.
They prefer that.
We went from 2.29 a gallon to $3.09 a gallon in 6 weeks. And it goes up every day.
Dear Joe...OPEC says...blow it out your ear.
OPEC has more leverage over the United States and our allies thanks to Biden’s policies.
Hold on to your butts! You think gas is expensive now? You ain’t seen nothin’ yet!

Hey, China Joe, How about restating the Keystone pipeline construction, and opening up oil drilling and production on federal land? Get us back to energy independence and we won’t care what OPEC does.
Ultimately, people vote based on their pocketbook. Dems will be punished raw in 2022 because I believe that they will have a hard time stealing more than their usual and customary 5-6% this time.
A year ago we had energy independence and didn’t need to negotiate anything with OPEC. Biden in six months sends us back begging to the oil sheiks
