The Acting House Sergeant at Arms appeared before a House committee and appears to have named Ashli Babbitt’s shooter.
Timothy Blodgett, in an exchange with Rep. Herrera-Buetler during a hearing on Jan. 6 that appeared on C-SPAN, seems to have casually dropped the name.
“The situation where you discussed, where Officer [Byrd] was at the door when Ms. Babbitt was shot, it was our Sergeant at Arms employee who rendered the aid.”
It is interesting that Blodgett names an “Officer Byrd” in the context of Ashli Babbitt’s shooting. An African-American Lieutenant Mike Byrd was reported by Roll Call as having once left his service weapon in a bathroom in 2019.
“A U.S. Capitol Police lieutenant left his service weapon in a bathroom Monday night and the unattended gun was discovered later by another Capitol Police officer,” Roll Call reported.
“After the House adjourned on Monday, Lt. Mike Byrd left his Glock 22 in a bathroom in the Capitol Visitor Center complex, according to sources familiar with the incident,” the report said. “Byrd is the commander of the House Chambers section of the Capitol Police and was on the job Tuesday and Wednesday.”
“Byrd addressed the incident at Tuesday morning’s officer roll call and, according to sources, told fellow officers that he ‘will be treated differently’ because of his rank as a lieutenant,” the report added. “It was not clear what exactly the lieutenant meant by the comment.”
The New York Times reported more information about the unidentified shooter in January, who called him a “lieutenant” and a “veteran officer.” He was not charged for excessive force or for negligence after shooting the unarmed woman. As far as the unidentified police officer is concerned, he is reportedly in hiding. The Capitol Police is directly supervised by the U.S. Congress, and is thus immune from subpoena.
“More than six weeks after Babbitt succumbed to a single gunshot wound to the upper chest, authorities are keeping secret the identity of the officer who fired the fatal round,” Real Clear Investigations’ Paul Sperry noted. “They won’t release his name, and the major news media aren’t clamoring for it, in stark contrast to other high-profile police shootings of unarmed civilians.”
“The officer who opened fire on Babbitt holds the rank of lieutenant and is a longtime veteran of the force who worked protective detail in the Speaker’s Lobby, a highly restricted area behind the House chamber, sources say,” Sperry notes. “An African-American, he was put on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation led by the Metropolitan Police of the District of Columbia, which shares jurisdiction with the Capitol Police. The Justice Department is also involved in the inquiry.”
In April, the Biden Department of Justice dropped all charges related to an unidentified Capitol police officer’s shooting of Ashli Babbitt.
The unnamed capitol officer held aloft .40-caliber Glock handgun and pointed it at Babbitt, while Sullivan shouts repeatedly that “there is a gun.” The officer shoots her after about 15 seconds, while police officers look on without intervening. The video can be watched below and the incident begins about 45 minutes in (caution: graphic):
No, I don't. Which is why I asked you the question.
You honestly believe that the government goes around hiring HUNDREDS of people to stage large-scale incidents and nothing gets leaked? Not one email or phone conversation or video or bank transfer. You believe that our government is so efficient and good at their job that they could pull these events off? Again, I just don't know how any rational human could come to that conclusion.
I guess you didn't see the video of her on the ambulance stretcher, her chest bare, and from what I could see in that video, she was already gone.
The Founders didn't anticipate a plague of "prosecutors" - funded by a checkbook with no bottom.
Have you studied the videos of the scene — the scene with the BLM activists — the scene with the bogus glass panes — the scene where two actors coordinated Ashli’s movement through the window frame — the scene where Ashli tucks her right hand under her buttocks — the scene with the cross-eyed “riot cop” — the scene where the barrel of the gun was virtually parallel to the ground when the muzzle flashed?
Her eyes blinked on the stretcher
He sure is a ‘snappy dresser’, for a murderer.
>> or in the ambulance that drove her away
I wager it was the undertaker.
I don't know if this has ever been tested, but Congress treats it as if the constitution gives the legislature primacy here, wholly outside the executive branch. It's why they can still smoke inside their offices, it's why they can leak classified information without punishment or be honeypotted by Chinese spies and still sit on the intelligence committee, it's why a Pakistani family was allowed to run the IT system for house members, break many laws in the process, and still be allowed to flee the country.
As far as the Ashli Babbitt incident, the capitol police officer panicked in the heat of the moment. It was a bad shot, he never took the time to clear his sight picture and he was shooting in the direction of other officers.
In what used to be typical reaction to a bad shoot, the union and the municipality wouldn't prosecute him for murder, but he would catch hell from the force for putting fellow officers in danger.
If it was in fact the same officer who left his service weapon inside a public bathroom stall, he never should have had that weapon in his hand in January, he was already revealed as being a risk to the public with a device weapon.
Pelosi and Schumer need the January 6 story to stay political and one sided, and they have the ability to maintain that grip until at least one chamber of Congress is in the hands of republicans, so they will bury it, there is nothing anyone can legally do about it, and it is up to us to channel that energy in a positive direction to see that it doesn't stay this way a moment longer than it has to.
But just look at all those things you just listed. Fake glass panes, multiple actors, fake guns, doctored videos, and a murder victim with dozens of friends and family and a full military record who you think just gave up her life to take part in an elaborate sham. What was the goal of January 6th? How did they pull this off without ANYONE saying anything? I'm not going to respond to you anymore because you're not going to convince me that this event was staged. But you should know that most people you say these things to will think you've got a major screw loose.
Bkmk Jan 6
I did see her on the stretcher as they were removing her from the Capitol. What I did not see was blood everywhere. I found that very strange.
I also saw video of her where she had fallen after being shot and removed. And one of the individuals on the scene stepped in and smeared a small portion of blood. Again I have to wonder after being shot like that why there was no significant blood loss. Others who have seen these videos surmise that this was all staged and blood splatter packets were used in a feeble attempt to fool people into thinking she was actually shot.
And when you add to these facts the other mysteries such as which hospital was she taken to? Where is her death certificate? It does lead rational people to wonder if this was all a staged production. Certainly people on the scene were claiming it was staged.
We may never know.
The stupidity of going into the capital building is what’s unacceptable to me but then Id be one of those shmucks on the outside trying keep people out.
The fight to recover what was stolen has no bounds imho. Getting suckered into a false flag set up doesnt not help the cause.
That wasnt a set up from the start.
We had a jeep driver hit during an ambush on the road and he was hit in the stomach and he also had a large lump on his upper arm, near the shoulder but no entrance wound. As we were waiting for the medevac helicopter, one of our guys pushed on the lump and it moved down his arm. He pushed some more, and the lump moved to the man's wrist. Then he pushed it again and a hot AK bullet, almost completely undeformed, popped out of a nearly invisible hole on a finger joint.
The bullet had penetrated the windshield frame and hit the hand on the steering wheel and slid up the bones of that man's arm. No blood at all.
You have mandatory response format for your questions? Nonetheless, I answered.
I’m well aware my remarks seem nutty. But good chance I have much more knowledge of the videos than you.
I once felt the way you seem to feel — that Ashli was an enthusiastic and ardent Trump supporter that was pointlessly gunned down, but then the BLM dopes decided to release their phone videos which were compiled and publicly released again, and again.
I’m comfortable with my assessments. There’s enough reference geometry at the scene to show the barrel of the gun was too low when the muzzle flashed — by ~10 degrees if I recall correctly. The entire scene could be projected in a 3D model, but I don’t have the time nor interest. However, I would happily walk back all my remarks if a 3D projection did in fact show an adequate trajectory.
That said, I’d rather have Ashli be alive then remain a martyr who’s assailant is protected by Stasi thugs.
I understand and respect your objections. FRegards.
This is what communist security apparatchiks do. This what the German Secret Police did. This what the Chinese communist party still does - but it is never supposed to be happening in this country.
Thanks for the info on blood loss, or lack thereof, due to GSW.
I mean it. I’m certainly no expert, all I know is what I’ve seen in the movies.
Do I believe Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed? Yeah I actually do. But I believe, just like Sandy Hook, that our leaders are lying to us and are holding out the truth for their own purposes. It actually would serve them well to have us think she was murdered even if it wasn’t true. Look how it worked out so well for Obama to perpetrate the birth certificate nonsense.
I’ve often said this, and I’ll say it again. Sometimes the craziest and wackiest conspiracy theories are much more believable than the “truth”.
Easy to call it a false flag AFTER the event.
Especially since officer Sicknick died nearly 12 hours after the “insurrection” of multiple strokes.
