Former Kentucky state Rep. Charles Booker will launch a bid to unseat Sen. Rand Paul, he announced.
The 37-year-old rose to national prominence last year when he narrowly lost the Democratic primary to take on Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to Amy McGrath, a former Marine combat pilot who ran as a moderate and was defeated.
At the same time that Booker was campaigning, 26-year-old Breonna Taylor, a black woman, in Louisville, Kentucky, was shot and killed in a botched police raid that sparked outrage and racial justice protests nationwide.

This man obviously deserves to be put in charge of something big.

...and this has zero to do with anything.
worrisome.
Thank you for your service, but at this point it doesn’t mean squat.
>>>This man obviously deserves to be put in charge of something big<<<
Well, he is Black and stuff.
That was NOT a “botched” police raid.
“That was NOT a “botched” police raid.”
I would say that shooting blindly in a flimsy apartment building was not really a good plan. In fact, it was extremely not well done at all. Yes, I know that the people involved were not saints. What about the people two pieces of sheetrock and some fiberglass away?
Runt Paul has nothing to worry about.
His ego.
Stalinazi Booger wants to be Kentucky Sinator.
The left is chipping away and the political rot virus has no cure evidently. GA is cooked and that’s the model. What once were fringe leftist candidates are now the norm. Half of this country’s voters are retarded and scared.
There was an issue where Rand voted against my wishes, so I will sit out this election and hope Booker wins - you know, to ‘teach Rand Paul a lesson’, for not being a perfect Republican, by my standards.
(my imitation of the vote suppressors on this site)
“Good luck with that.”
Agree. At least if the voting is relatively clean in this election, Democrats will get wiped out, and anyone, particularly in a red state, has nothing to worry about.
Nobody is unseating Rand Paul. Period!
Uh, no. They had Amy McGrath on record claiming that she's the most liberal person in Kentucky.
From what I've seen of Senator Paul, it seems like a quite a long shot. He's pretty much the best of the lot, and the only one I can think of that I have any respect for.
My comment was intended to be ironic.
As fieldmarshaldj said, he might try to get his own ego under control, if that's possible.
Beware the voter fraud apparatus being stealthily implemented.
KY would be exceedingly hard to steal. Of 120 counties in KY, only TWO (Jefferson-Louisville; Fayette-Lexington) are reliably Demonrat. McConnell lost just three counties in 2020, running behind President Trump (who got 62%), and Rand Paul lost 7 counties in 2016 (the big two, the state capital county, which McConnell lost also, and 4 rural counties that now vote GOP). If they put up BLM Booger, Rand will sweep those other 5 handily.
Wasn’t he the factory foreman on Roseanne who tried to bowl his way into Jackie’s bed?
