Alright, alright........ where do you get a cherry bomb?

We have today, in east Tennessee, an extremely large fireworks store where customers leave with grocery carts of fireworks. We have many, many smaller shops set up in large tents.

At none of them can you buy a cheery bomb or M-80

I was reminiscing about the good ol’ days.

I think we bought them in Missouri, back in the sixties.

I remember a bunch of us young guys making a road trip from Indy just to score some M-80s and CBs.

My experience was '63-'64 years
 

These original spherical salutes were powerful enough to cause a legitimate safety concern. They were banned in the United States in 1966, by the federal Child Safety Act of 1966.
