Donald Trump has long claimed that investigations of him are a partisan “witch hunt.” Manhattan DA Cy Vance seems determined to make Trump’s point for him by indicting the Trump Organization along with its chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg.
The 15-count indictment throws a kitchen sink of charges, including grand larceny, conspiracy, scheme to defraud,and tax fraud. But the whole thing comes down to paying perks to Weisselberg — such as his parking garage fees, tuition for family members and reimbursement of holiday gratuities — and not reporting them as taxable income, or reporting that the wrong Trump entity paid them.
For this they slapped Weisselberg in handcuffs Thursday and paraded him in front of the media — a stage-managed political show trial.
Corporations almost never get criminally prosecuted for this sort of thing, but Vance wanted the name “Trump” in his indictment. You can bet that he would have indicted The Donald if he had the goods. The feds — who’ve been auditing Trump’s taxes forever — haven’t filed charges.
Equal justice under law means the same law for everyone. That is violated not only when we give powerful people a pass in cases that would get ordinary people locked up, but also when prominent figures get pursued over things that would never get a normal person prosecuted.
Attorney General Robert Jackson, later a Supreme Court justice and Nuremberg prosecutor, warned against “picking the man and then searching the law books, or putting investigators to work, to pin some offense on him,” in which case “the real crime becomes that of being unpopular with the predominant or governing group, being attached to the wrong political views, or being personally obnoxious to or in the way of the prosecutor himself.”

DA Cyrus Vance has engaged in a selective political prosecution. He has committed a crime with this abuse of his office. He is an enemy of the people and must be held accountable for his crime. there can be no justice until this criminal is severely punished.

What are the odds Cy Vance has a “client #9” or “brown slave” problem?
after years of investigating, searching through millions of pages of documents, and this is all they can come up with? Don’t most well-paid executives get perks instead of even more money? How about Vance himself, does he get any perks?
This really is disgusting. Also, don’t forget that it has been going on at one level or another of government ever since Trump took office. They couldn’t get him on anything and they also didn’t think they could get away with it while he was the sitting president. So they went after all of his associates, humiliating and terrifying them with dawn raids, heavy-handed arrests and parades past the press and the mob, and charges that ranged from ridiculous to ridiculous. (In this case, that of the elderly, dignified Weisselberg, they hand-cuffed his hands behind his back and marched him into the court.)
The real point of this is to make Trump radioactive, so that nobody will dare to support him or even be associated with him. And this goes all the way from the big fish to just average deplorables. I suspect they’ll soon create a new crime, “attending a Trump rally.”
This shit is happening because the left controls every single lever of power in this country and unless/until there is some pushback nothing will change.
It should be obvious by now.

There is a bit of similarity. The “warrior” Cyrus imagined himself a king , uniting all the pathological, demented,dysfunctional criminal gang bangers into a unified evil organization. Cyrus Vance is a modern Democratic privlidged political capo. He too has following him similar, bizarre people unified in a quest for power to transform this country into something bad and unrecognizable.
This will drag out...media will play it bigtime. Trump this...Trump that....taxes, crime, embezzlement blah blah....then a quiet slap on the wrist and no charges. No apologies issued. The left and the media will have gotten what they wanted and that is MORE verbal prosecution of the Trump family.
The left is despicable. The media is culpable.
