You’ve got to hand it to our senators and representatives in Washington, D.C.
They can’t balance the budget. They can’t defend our freedoms. They can’t do a lot of things.
What they can do is rapidly approve a dubious national holiday without even thinking or debating about what that holiday may be used for.
Congratulations, Congress.
I refer to the “Juneteenth” celebration, formerly a regional holiday, now, suddenly, a federal holiday, and if you disagree with it you’re a horrible person.

Here is what an enemy does to a conquered nation – in this case the Soviets upon their entry into the major Polish city of of Lwow (now Lviv):

With the help of especially organized railway and truck transports they brought tens of thousands of Russians from Russia and Ukraine in order to then register them as residents of the city. No. It will never be such a holiday, one widely embraced by all of America’s people.
Ten years from now it will probably be back to it’s former status of obscurity except for a federal day off. Juneteenth is more of a memorial based on a time in our history most of us would prefer not thinking about.
Juneteenth will be degraded by young blacks marking it as a day to show their distrust and displeasure with the USA.
I guess I am a terrible person. A “National Holiday” should be just that, a holiday that celebrates the entire population, not a very small portion of it. This holiday does and will mean nothing for most of the country. Not to mention the term Juneteenth sounds illiterate.
4th is OUR Independence Day. It for everyone.
It celebrates the Republican victory over the Democrat slavers.
Fine by me.
No, but that’s their intention in making it a national holiday—to further divide the nation.
Watch for "context" and "interpretation" phrases designed to steer American's perception of America AWAY from traditional views and toward "equity" and other Marxist strategies.

The celebration of the end of slavery in the United States isn’t a bad thing folks...
No that doesn’t mean I buy into the radical left wing activist BS that is involved in the racial division and violence going on today, but celebrating the end of a horrific practice of human slavery in the United States isn’t a bad thing.
I probably would have chosen the date of the ratification of the 13th or 14th amendments over the “last day” of the Civil War, but that’s nitpicking.
