Parents and teachers across the country are denouncing critical race theory as racist indoctrination of innocent children. Idaho public officials, however, consider their conservative state to be immune to the progressive education movement, arguing “It's not happening here.”
Meanwhile, 14 Idaho public school teachers are defending pushing CRT on students.
The Zinn Education Project created a national petition that has collected thousands of signatures from teachers pledging to violate state laws that ban critical race theory in public schools, including 14 signatures (and counting) from Idaho teachers.
The petition states that Idaho’s law aims “to prohibit teachers from teaching the truth about this country: It was founded on dispossession of Native Americans, slavery, structural racism and oppression; and structural racism is a defining characteristic of our society today.”
Opponents of Idaho’s law, like the teachers who signed Zinn’s petition, will argue that these laws will hurt efforts intended to address racism. Of course, even critical race theorists themselves will tell you that CRT is actually about discriminating against white people and rejecting the Civil Rights movement.
According to Critical Race Theory: An Introduction, CRT is “unlike traditional civil rights discourse” in that it “questions the very foundations of the liberal order, including equality theory, legal reasoning, Enlightenment rationalism and neutral principles of constitutional law.”
For example, Robin DiAngelo has claimed that it is “dangerous” to treat people equally regardless of their race.

Idaho? Jeez Louise, the communist cockroaches have infested every inch of the country.
Teachers pushing this just need to be fired.
Howard Zinn was human waste and should have been treated as such while he was alive.
I had kind of a funny experience (well, at least it was funny to me) with my introduction to Howard Zinn…I had no idea who he was at the time.
My departed mother-in-law was, in life, a major-league liberal. She was a community organizer type of liberal. Now, I didn't know this about her before I married my wife, but it wouldn't have made a difference to me.
As the years went on, both my viewpoints and her viewpoints became known to each of us… and we entered a phase where she would say things deliberately to get a response out of me (or to see if I would just sit and say nothing)
Needless to say, I wasn't about to sit and get baited by my mother-in-law, so I gave back in like kind when she initiated something. This went on for a relatively short period of time, then we kind of came to a mutual understanding. Neither one of us said a thing, but the understanding was there nonetheless that we would keep the peace by keeping our tongue. Not to say she wouldn't occasionally poke at me (or me at her) but after that, that was pretty much all it was. I was kind of got the impression she was doing it just to see if I would stand up for myself.
In any case, I received a Christmas present from her one particular year. She knew that I was a history buff, and I read history prodigiously, so it was no surprise to me when I opened one of her Christmas presents and saw a history book. It was a fairly good-sized glossy volume, and I figured I'd put my feet up when I got home and begin reading.
When I got home, I opened the book up and began reading. At first, I was puzzled. “What the heck is this?” I read little bit further, and got even more perplexed. “What the hell kind of book is this?” I thought to myself.
I immediately begin skipping through the book, preferentially stopping in key areas in American history. As I reached each section, I would read sometimes only a sentence, or occasionally a paragraph. After I had been through multiple sections in this manner, I stood up angrily and exclaimed “screw this piece of crap!”
I walked out in the garage and through the book in the trash.
The name of the book was “The People's History of the United States” by Howard Zinn.
I was appalled. I had never seen a history book quite like that one. I was even more disturbed to find out later that this was an actual textbook used in public school classrooms all over the country. I'm still appalled at that thought.
In retrospect, it popped into my mind almost immediately as I was throwing the book in the trash, that this was perhaps my mother-in-law poking her finger in my eye. After a few more seconds of contemplation, I guessed that was not the case.
Knowing how my mother-in-law shops, particularly for Christmas presents, this book was almost undoubtedly on the bargain bookshelf at the front of the Borders bookstore when she walked in. I'd be willing to bet that she didn't pay more than a few dollars for, because I doubt you could find it inside the store at regular price.
So, every time I hear the name Howard Zinn, I think of the anti-American far left political screed that was his book, that I had the pleasure to throw into a garbage can.
Or hung
Take over the school boards, and fire them all.
Teachers are the backbone of communism in America...
They are the ones who, starting in the 1970s, did the grunt work that was responsible for the compete transformation of America from freedom, liberty, and capitalism to into the tyranny of communism...
All hail the teachers!
Critical race theory is marxist identity politics
Even in Idaho the liberal rot in the teaching industry is very alive and well. And, pushing its abhorrent agenda upon the young minds all the while pursuing the brainwashing programs.
Separation of school and state.
The time has come.
Choice/vouchers. One question to the schools: Do you or do you not support CRT? My ex had the choice between 3 high schools for her daughter. My response: just go to the one that has the most Chinese GIRLS! She chose the one with the richest kids/boys. Didn’t work.
If this can happen in IDAHO, this country has truly fallen to the communists. As CS Lewis wrote in “That Hideous Strength”, the “The poison has spat itself everywhere now.”
I am trying to stay off the FBI domestic terrorist list. There are things I think, but do not put in writing.
A red state could eliminate federal mandates and finances couldn’t they? Do their own thing. 10th amendment. Somebody’s gotta step forward. Desantis? Noem?
Howard Zinn was a secret member of the Communist Party USA and to some degree, an open Marxist. There is a difference. Marxism is an ideology and has several different sub-orientations - Marxist, Maoist, Castroite, Stalinist - Soviet and No. Korean, Vietnamese - Ho Chi Minh style; Khmer Rouge (Reds) - Pol Pot and his genocide based philosophy, Marxism-ite - European Socialists and some Social Democrats; The Trotskyite “4th International”, Sandinista-style; and Chavezistas/Madurites kind, with a few other African mixed variations - Nkrumahism, Mugabites, South African Communist Party/ANC style (with a heavy Soviet influence), etc.
Zinn could almost be called the “Father of Marxist Historians” in the US.
He was a traitor to America and freedom. His book and now his propaganda arm, the Zinn Education Foundation, are one of the greatest threats to American education in history. I’m surprised that it is showing its face in Idaho but there has been a small low-profile Marxist presence there and in Iowa for a long time.
Time to wipe them out of the educational system.
Yes they have.
