Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said Wednesday on ABC’s “The View” that the debate over whether climate change is real needs to stop because it was “happening” and “incredibly dangerous.”
Co-host Joy Behar said, “I’m going to throw my question out and ask you, what about climate change? What are we doing about this? This is, to me, the most urgent question of the decade, of the century maybe. Look at these people in the northwest of this country, 115 degrees in part of Canada. I mean, what is going on with that? Are you guys going to fix that or at least contribute to fixing it?”

Agreed. It’s happening and has been happening for four billion years. It is the height of arrogance to assume we can control the climate.

What was going on in 1928 when similiar temps were in Washington state?
What was going on in 1960?
Why haven’t these been the temps for nearly 100 years?
This is not a “trend”

That’s where I always get lost in these global warming debates.
Exactly what law, can be passed by Congress, to fix the problems?
Exactly what policies enacted by the executive branch of the U.S. will fix this alleged global problem?
What can be done by the U.S. alone to change anything, when we aren’t seeing any actions taken by the big offenders such as China?
So Pete, I think there is plenty of time to debate, and plenty of things to debate about. I resent the liberal attitude that there’s nothing to debate, the debate is over, etc.
We'd be lucky if our Current Warm Trend (the era we're currently living in) takes our temps up to what they were during the Roman Warm Period (2,000 years ago) or even the Medieval Warm Period (1,000 years ago).
Any warming that gets us further away from the recent Little Ice Age (ending in the 1800s) is a good thing. Who'd want to go back to lower crop yields and less predictable rains and even more plagues?
Ask him if UFOs pose an even greater existential threat since they occupy secured airspace regularly?
