For the second consecutive week, none of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties are seeing high transmission of COVID-19, Gov. Tom Wolf’s office said Tuesday.
Last week marked the first time in months there were no counties with substantial spread of COVID-19. As recently as early May, 40 counties showed high transmission of the virus.
As more people have been vaccinated, new infections and hospitalizations have dropped. Most counties are now seeing low transmission of COVID-19.
Across the state, the percentage of positive tests for COVID-19 dropped to 1.2% for the week of June 18-24, down from 1.4% the previous week. This marks the 10th consecutive week the positive test rate has declined.
“We are continuing to make progress toward stopping the spread of COVID-19 throughout the commonwealth, as many Pennsylvanians have taken responsibility for their own health and the health of their communities by getting vaccinated,” Gov. Wolf said in a statement.
“This week, we are reporting less than a thousand confirmed cases, another consecutive week of decreased statewide positivity and achieving 75 percent of Pennsylvanians receiving at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.”
On Monday, Pennsylvania lifted its universal mask mandate, marking the first time in more than a year the state hasn’t had some sort of order requiring face coverings in public. However, masks are still required in hospitals, doctors’ offices, nursing homes and public transportation systems, including airports and mass transit networks.
The Wolf administration uses three categories to gauge the transmission of COVID-19: low, moderate and substantial. The Wolf administration has offered a weekly report on the number of counties with substantial spread of COVID-19.
There are 55 counties with low spread of COVID-19 and 12 counties seeing moderate spread. In the Harrisburg region, York County is the lone county showing moderate transmission of the virus; the others are all seeing low spread.
Here’s a look at the transmission rates in each county.
Low:
Adams, Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Berks, Blair, Bucks, Butler, Cameron, Carbon, Centre, Chester, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Columbia, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Elk, Erie, Forest, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Huntingdon, Indiana, Jefferson, Juniata, Lancaster, Lawrence, Lebanon, Lehigh, McKean, Mercer, Mifflin, Montgomery, Montour, Northampton, Northumberland, Perry, Schuylkill, Snyder, Somerset, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Union, Venango, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Westmoreland and Wyoming
Moderate:
Bradford, Cambria, Crawford, Fayette, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Lycoming, Monroe, Philadelphia, Pike, Potter and York
Statewide, 60% of Pennsylvania adults are fully vaccinated, while 75% of those 18 and over have had at least their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Pennsylvania Health Department.
There are 316 people in Pennsylvania being treated for COVID-19 in hospitals, down from 2,800 in March. At the peak in December, more than 6,300 were hospitalized due to the virus.
More than 1.2 million people in Pennsylvania have contracted the coronavirus and more than 27,600 deaths have been tied to COVID-19, according to the health department.
Most of those who are infected with the coronavirus deal with relatively minor symptoms and many never got sick. But doctors say COVID-19 poses risks to everyone, especially seniors and those with certain health complications.
Doctors also urge everyone to get vaccinated to get the best possible protection from COVID-19 and the variants that have emerged, such as the Delta variant.
Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
If they have to get us to omega to keep control they'll give it a try.
I read somewhere that the PCR tests were going to limit the “amplification” to 25 cycles - instead of the 40+ they were doing which guarantees a high level of false positives. Similarly, COVID deaths would only be counted if the death was purely from COVID (not other health issues).
IMHO this is all part of a ramp-down in the numbers, it was deliberate hysteria driven by bad data - all to ‘get Trump’. Now we need a ‘Biden success’ - so move the goalposts to be as wide as possible.
****What a contrast to the “Delta Variant” Fearporn be ginned up on too much of the MSM!*****
Oh, don’t worry. This fall, every stupid leftist will start mask-shaming again, calling for lockdowns and screaming at the “unvaccinated”. Part 2 will be far worse with the added intentional angry fascists pushing this to the cliff. Be ready-—I believe we ain’t seen nothing yet! The calm before the storm right now-—
For second straight week, there are no counties in Pa. with high spread of COVID-19...
But, but the D-D-Delta variant!! 😱
Because, as we were told, last year.....these viruses will have variants (it’s what viruses do!)...and, they’re nothingburgers.
Enjoy relative freedom while it lasts.
Get a really good meal at a great restaurant with your best friends and don’t worry about the size of the bill.

Where’s the Oh, noes!! gif??
I’ve seen you post this a couple of times, now.
How about just saying, NO! ??
And, melting the phone lines of every Rep/Sen/Gov who represents YOU.
I think the reduced spread in PA is not because of the vaccines - it’s because they are using different made-up statistics now than the made-up statistics they were using before.
I hope they keep using the made-up statistics they are using, because it’s much better to not get sick WITHOUT masks and shutdowns than it is to not get sick WITH masks and shutdowns.
I also suspect the Democrats are finally realizing that with Trump not running for re-election, and the election already safely stolen, it is not as important to have widespread panic, business shut downs, joblessness, counterfeit mail-in ballots, and restrictions on Trump rallies.
It really is a shame it has take so long to get to this point. This is the effect of herd immunity. Everything eff’n Tommie the Commie and his tranny butt buddy Health Secretary did was to slow progress to herd immunity. Yes, certainly those with co-morbidities are in danger from the CCP virus, but they are also in danger from many other things. They need to take personal responsibility and protect themselves and improve their health. Everyone else should have just dealt with that damn virus, just like we have to deal with the common cold and the flu each year. There was zero need to destroy PA’s economy and the lives of so many people.
They were deathly afraid of hitting herd immunity before November 3.
You win the Internet today with that post! Pithy, direct, and true.
“For the second consecutive week, none of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties are seeing high transmission of COVID-19….”

Oh believe me I have contacted my reps, I have gone to rallies, I have defied as much as I possibly can but I’m simply getting prepared. You do what you qant...I will keep enjoying life as king as I can, have a backup plan and an escape plan. If you know the fastball to your head is coming you can at least as react much better to it.
