An Arkansas cop was killed when the driver of a Jeep ran him over as the suspect was attempting to make a getaway from police for a separate crime, reports said.
Pea Ridge Police Officer Kevin Apple was walking toward the Jeep to speak with its passengers on Saturday when the driver allegedly hit the gas, crashed into Apple’s police patrol car and rammed the officer, The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.
Police from another department had been looking for the car in connection with “a property crime,” KHBS/KHOG reported. Apple and another officer pulled their police vehicles on either side of the stopped Jeep before they approached it, the Democrat-Gazette said.

Shawna Rhae Cash, 22, of Pine Bluff and Elijah Anadoloza Sr., 18, of Bella Vista have been arrested in Apple’s death, according to reports. Both were being held in the Benton County jail Saturday night on charges of capital murder or attempted capital murder.
I wonder if this poor cop would still be alive today if he was allowed to fire at the perp who used his car as a deadly weapon?
It used to be cops were trained and had the legal authority to shoot at a fleeing criminal in a car.
No longer. Too many cops were shooting at the BACK of a car leaving the scene and injuring or killing passengers.
Beyond that, the cop is a local policeman, so they think that it doesn't matter. They are trying to destroy the local police forces across the country and replace them with a federal police force.
My friend was witness to the crime. This happened a few miles from me.

Officer Apple tried to stop the car but like all police had to second guess proven techniques.
Another officer did shoot the car though. It wasn’t effective.
The way I see it - Officer Apple lost his life thanks to BLM and Antifa types that regularly and routinely resist arrest and are allowed to get away because when cops take action to enforce the law . . .

This is why the best thing a cop can do is simply walk off the job. They can’t police anymore.
BEFORE the whole BLM thing if they did a single thing wrong it was their ass - Now they’ll go to jail. Every single action has to be by the book and they are only human. I couldn’t do it.

And I contend that routine murder and chaos is exactly what the Leftists want to happen.
The Leftists want crime to become so bad that a majority of people will demand that the government take away the guns.

Officer Apple was a regular customer at my daughter’s food truck. By all accounts he was a great person and a great cop.
The two perps were also regular customers at a liquor store in Avoca that caters to their type.
