On one side, MichelAngelo’s Pieta. On the other side, mud huts.

#2. Let the leftists try to appropriate the Pieta for their cause. Most of them don’t know what it is or give a damn. The decent, hardworking black Americans are trying to live as good Americans despite some real problems.
I saw the original Pieta at the Worlds Fair/UN in 1965 along with the Lacoloon? carving. Very impressive works of art.

Like all so-called social realism, it's merely agitprop.

Interesting how so many things (but not all) like this in the olden days, such as the Tulsa riot began with a black man supposedly attacking a white woman.
Now it happens all the time an no one bats an eye.

“Tulsa Massacre”
It was not hidden. It just was not rubbed in everyone’s face for the last 100 years as it is now.
I first read of it in 1970, in a book I found at the Tulsa County Library.

***Sadly since the crazed Hungarian Australian (my own similar heritage btw) took a hammer to the Pieta you can’t get very close anymore.***
Same with the Mona Lisa. Protective measures, a plastic barrier have been set up since some fool threw a bottle of India Ink at it.
He missed.

I remember the critics ripping that movie back then. One said the music was “Overwhelming, Ponderous.”

Me too. Amazing thing is they were actually taking it out of the crating when I saw it. The Cardinal of NYC insisted that people be allow to see it even before it was properly placed. I remember the Cardinal standing by it, the crate and other packing material lying beside it.

The Tulsa race battle started when a group of blacks opened fire on a crowd of whites.

Imagine, staring at stone or marble for days watching how it reflects sunlight and tolerates the impact of Light, before even approaching it with chisels and hammer.
And spending days in the Catholic dead room performing autopsies on the dead bodies so he could get his sculptures exactly right.

Comic book girlfriends mostly have perfect proportions. I the Archie comics, the only difference between Betty, Veronica and Midge is the hair. Lois Lane, Lana Lang, Lori LeMaris, all built. Heck, even Jimmy Olsen's girl, Lucy Lane, was just Lois with blonde hair and less attitude. Comic book artists like drawing them developed,
