The UK public should be urged by the government to protect the climate by eating less meat and dairy produce, advisers say.
Cattle are a major source of planet-heating gases, but ministers fear a backlash if they ask people to cut down on steak.
But the Climate Change Committee (CCC) says people should reduce meat-eating for their health, as well as for the planet.
It says the issue's one of many failings of a government which is delivering only a fifth of its pledges on climate change.
People should be asked to eat 20% less meat and dairy produce by 2030, and 35% less by 2050, the CCC insists.
The CCC says Boris Johnson must devise evidence-based policies to encourage healthier diets and set clear targets.
Its report says the PM's "remarkable" climate leadership is undermined by inadequate policies and poor implementation in many areas of policy.
A government spokesman said its Net Zero Strategy due in the Autumn would show where carbon cuts would be imposed across the economy.

So Right Wing Vegan only eats the right wing. Odd
LOL! Thank you.
Thanks much. Time flies.
U.S. NEWS No tuna DNA detected in Subway’s tuna sandwich: report!
The Clergy have no business in the promotion of either Vegetarian diets or the Man Made Climate Change hoax.
Probably, but I believe the ministers to which they are referring are government ministers, not religious ministers.
How about we send all these CCC terrorists to the Taliban? They know what to do with crazies that want to stop them eating meat.
And ministers should urge public to abort fewer babies.
And ministers should urge public to not be sodomites.
And ministers should urge public to honor their parents.
And ministers should urge public to not be on the dole.
And ministers should urge public to not look at porn.
All I know is, God didn’t want offerings of burnt figs and olives.
I’ll eat what I want and you can stick to the 10 commandments...
Meanwhile the 5% conspiracy theory side of me is sure a lot of religious ministers are probably getting their marching orders too.
“Cattle are a major source of planet-heating gases...”
They just made up this sh-t .... have they no observed China’s power plants and giga-factories?
“Eat what? Sorry, can’t hear you over these yummy noises from everyone eating steak and burgers around me!”
No one here gives a DAMN about your eating habits....
As long as you’re for personal choice in the matter I’ve no problem with you. Welcome!

Have you ever watched the movie titled The Secret Life Of Plants?
Heehee.
There are a few people getting fired up about that, so let me be clear why I mentioned it at all: To stress how even vegans/vegetarians should oppose government or NWO attempts to push their reduced meat agenda.
And when it comes to forces joined in opposing leftism and NWO agendas, let everyone have whatever food they want in their rations.
There's not enough land on the planet that's suitable for growing enough crops for everyone to go vegan. We're omnivores and have survived by eating pretty much what's available in the location we are. As you say, a local issue. Many cultures are simply bad at growing crops too. China has turned a lot of land into desert. Muslims have always been bad at agriculture. They also like goat and goats can be like locusts if not managed properly, which they don't. Manure is fertilizer and if we cut down on animals too much, that leaves chemical fertilizers which we already use too much of and when they leach or run off into rivers, kill aquatic life.
We're omnivores and different areas on the planet are only suitable for certain things, a variety. The whole planet going vegan will lead to starvation. The whole planet going keto will lead to starvation. In either case, we would ruin land trying and then the starvation comes. The combo of animals and plants is self sustaining, by design. Mess with the original design too much and you'll get a major breakdown of biological systems.
OMG!!! leave US THE f—K ALONE!!!
I can understand wanting to eat vegetables to avoid slaughtering animals if one is tender-hearted. However, I cannot see avoiding meat and eggs because it is somehow harmful or exploitative to milk cows for milk and cheese and to harvest eggs from chickens.
I would agree. There is a state church over there. And here the ministers are getting pressured too. I have a vivid recollection of Carl Sagen wanting ministers to turn over their congregations to his preaching. It was a sort of “you provide the people, I will provide the message.” It never stops.
