As to bestseller status, those are manipulated as Michael Savage once explained. First week sales mean a threshold for Amazon, Barnes & Noble and NY Times to declare it a bestseller.
Then that guarantees more orders and discounts. Stores can place books in front area and near checkouts.
Interested parties can make mass buys (pseudonymous Dem Party? Investors?) and boost sales again. Average American sees Bestseller on computer or at a store (including grocery stores as for Bill O’Reilly ones) and grabs it. “If all those people liked it they must be right so I’ll take a chance.”
Also mentions on morning shows. They used to designate an employee at big book stores (remember them?) to watch and jot down the authors’ names. Each customer could then say “The guy with the fuzzy white hair who wrote about steps to getting rich” and they’d wisely know the book in question.
Book in favor of Trump? Savage himself? NO TV allowed. Dem side? Gushing interviews with adoring talking heads praising the book.
