125 Israelis test positive for coronavirus on Monday, Health Ministry says, as the delta variant continues to make headway in Israel
The highest daily coronavirus infection rate in two months was registered in Israel on Monday, with 125 people testing positive after local outbreaks of the delta variant had been reported across the country.
The director-general of the Health Ministry, Chezy Levy, told Israeli television that about 70 per cent of the new infections were with the Delta variant. He also noted that half of those infected were children, and that a third of those infected had been vaccinated.

The vaccine increases chance of death or the Delta strain. Hopefully ivermectin and other treatments still work once you have been vaccinated.

It does not. Your chance of dying if you catch the Covid-19 Delta variant after being vaccinated is exactly the same as your chance if you were not vaccinated. However, you are much less likely to catch Covid-19 after vaccinated, lowering your overall chance of death. According to a technical note published by the British government, the vaccines are 80% effective against the Delta variant after two doses. Vaccine effectiveness against the Alpha variant is 88%.
In general, do not take blogger and pundit’s opinions without fact-checking extensively against the source documents. Bloggers and pundits do not have a scientific background, and typically use phrases cherry-picked from the scientific literature to support a pre-determined opinion. When you understand the science and the context of the facts they present, you often find out that they are completely wrong.

The Delta variant is much less deadly than other variants of Covid-19.
The case fatality rate (CFR) of the Alpha variant (the first to emerge, and the ancestor of all other variants) is 1.8-2.0%.
The CFR of the Delta variant is 0.1-0.5%. This is only a little higher than the CFR of influenza.
There are two variants with higher CFRs than Alpha, but they have had very few cases.
In general, the more deadly a pathogen is, the less communicable it is. And vice versa. This seems to be the case with the Delta variant, which spreads more easily but is less deadly. As pathogens adapt to humans, they become both more communicable and less deadly. This is because when people become seriously ill, they typically don’t feel like interacting with other people, so they don’t spread the virus. (And other people don’t want to be around them, either.) How much less deadly Covid-19 might become is uncertain, since it already occupies a “sweet spot” for pathogens, in that it is not so deadly that it inhibits its own transmission, but deadly enough to be a real public health concern.
Question: What is the down side of testing positive to COVID-19 if you don’t have any symptoms?
It was “weaponized” by bats, whose immune systems are very resistant to pathogens when compared to human immune systems. Because bats do not become as sick from pathogens, they can easily spread them. Because people in China have a bad habit of catching anything that moves and selling it at live markets, where they often slaughter the game on the spot, they create conditions where people are exposed to zoonotic diseases. Until they change their culture and discontinue live markets, there will always be a danger of a new pathogen emerging in China.
Oh, and there are no patents for viruses.
