One of the biggest reasons that EV cars are selling in China is because ICE (gasoline) cars are not allowed into parts of major cities, but EV's are. There are laws and rules that punish people for buying ICE cars. Liberals want to duplicate that here.

At lease it’s in the driveway when you want it.
If you don’t want that, use Uber. Or the bus.
If you make a trip per day in you vehicle, subscription service does not suit you. ESPECIALLY if you have to go pick it up.
I remember my step-dad telling me that cars were becoming too expensive to own. This was in the early 70s when a car started to cost what a house did when he was a young adult. He thought people would end up leasing cars.
I guess he was half right. But he would be gob smacked at the prices of cars today.
