Alberta is on the verge of a major blowup.

They are lifting everything July 1st I guess to try to avoid that, but it’s been nuts.

The big nanny state with it’s centralized decision making ends up being like this.

Liberals in the West think that somehow “oppression” at the hand of a social democratic system is acceptable and different than “oppression” from a communist state. It’s still just “oppression.”

You cannot have it both ways.

You either have the big nanny state that protects you and provides safety in all aspects: physical, economic, social stability/security... or you have free citizens with limited government.

As government grows, the rights of citizens shrink. Eventually you end up with a oppressive system even if you have elections, even if you have a Constitution...

You end up with a technocracy, and if you challenge the decisions of said technocracy acting in the public best interest (supposedly), you end up being punished.

In the province of New Brunswick there have been over 75 different orders signed by a cabinet minister under the “emergency” order clearly showing they are making up the rules on the fly.

It was hollywood and the rest of the democrat party that demonized taking a vaccine developed under Donald Trump just because they hated Trump. The democrat party made HCQ illegal and murdered thousands of people.

Brad Paisley says it’s ‘patriotic’ to get the coronavirus vaccine, blames ‘Hollywood elite’ for hesitancy

Premier Jason Kenney is no Conservative as I see it although in the past he was acting like one.

The old religious rural forces that embodied the once ruling Social Credit Party of Alberta were displaced by the Progressive Conservatives who took power in the 70’s led by Peter Lougheed.

Lougheed reflected a new Alberta driven by the energy industry.

Alberta once had a Premier some 80 years ago Bill Aberhart who preached on the radio and was a Conservative Protestant.

His nickname “Bible Bill”.

Alberta has gone from “Bible Bill” to “Comrade Kenney”.
