A study released this month from MOXY, a "non-partisan social ecosystem," found that most Americans would fail a citizenship test.
A total of 1,033 responses were collected online from May 28 through June 2, to test respondents ability to pass a citizenship test required for those applying for naturalization. In total, only 42 percent passed. Independents by far did the best, with 54 percent passing. The passing rate was 44 percent for Republicans and just 35 percent for Democrats.
The breakdown by party affiliation came down to 19.53 percent of Independents, 39.65 percent of Republicans, and 39.84 percent of Democrats. The remaining 0.98 percent were "other."
It is worth noting about the results that the test provided to respondents was easier for them than it is for those actually applying for naturalization.
The report's summary beginning by noting:
In this era of hyper-partisanship, political frustration and skepticism with governance, the question of how well voters understand the political process is ripe for inquiry. Residents of the U.S. learn civics in junior high school and seldom return to the subject.

Independents are the smart ones and the numbers just aren’t much for anyone to be proud of.
Then they are not eligible. Look what we have running the country
For a couple of years I taught a 3 month prep-class for persons wanting to take the naturalization test. First let me say the test is easy easy easy. Hard to imagine anyone would fail it. But I enjoyed teaching what was a civics/us history class for 3 months.... and the students enjoyed it too. There was a sense of accomplishment for them....
What? There's no 10,000 word essay! It should be graded for grammar, usage, punctuation and content correctness.
A neighbor of mine is Korean and passed the citizenship test a few years ago.She told me some of the questions included...and now I’m not so sure I could pass.
I’m pretty sure you’d pass: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/questions-and-answers/100q.pdf
It seems like we should be teaching our kids about citizenship, instead of CRT, 57 genders, and putting condoms on bananas...
Not surprised. Kids these days are too busy learning about BLM, social justice and the meaning of Juneteenth to be bothered with (very) basic American history, rights and law.
Did the teaching provide opportunity to explain the difference between a right and a privilege?
Looks a lot easier than a general ham radio test.. And you only need 6 out of 10 to pass.
I developed the curriculum so I could teach them anything I wanted a new citizen to know as it pertains to civics and us history

That is a really easy test.
That could be dangerous in the wrong person's hands.
Not to worry. We don’t need no stinkin’ Citizenship Test. Open borders for all! Come get your government freebies!
Interesting.
No doubt it could…. Letting the government develop the curriculum is probably certain to be dangerous….
#68 on Benjamin Franklin should include his flying a kite in a storm (to prove that lightning is electricity) and his invention of the notion of daylight saving time.
Voting DEMONCRAT fails the Citizenship Test.
