Despite having their weapons seized and pleading guilty to charges in connection with pointing guns at Black Lives Matter rioters on their private property during the summer of 2020, Mark and Patricia McCloskey appeared defiant Saturday, posting a picture of a new AR-15 the St. Louis couple intends to buy.
"Checking out my new AR!" Mark McCloskey tweeted along with two pictures: one with McCloskey at a gun store with the owner, and another with him and his wife, Patricia. In both, he is holding an AR-15 rifle.
The picture came just two days after the McCloskeys pleaded guilty to lesser charges and agreed to pay fines in connection with last summer’s incident involving Black Lives Matter rioters who tore down an iron gate and ignored a "No Trespassing" sign on their private street. The couple said they felt threatened and armed themselves before heading outside to warn off the crowd.

They caved and the judge was an ass. They turned in the guns “not” used against the aggressors but could have been if needed in a plea deal.
They did nothing wrong but took a plea deal.
Yes, it is indeed the biggest that will fit.
But will it reach out to 800 yards and still be accurate?
I grew up with 30-06 and 8mm Mausers.
My father was an armorer during WWII. Serviced Quad 50’s and Bofors.
.308 is a short case 30-06.
30-06 is the little brother of 50BMG.
Good, they need at least two.
I was just saying that he’s holding the gun with his left hand... ;)
“Thank you for making my point the first time.
I’m inclined to believe that they’re most likely provocateurs.”
Not saying that but their objective to dissuade people from attacking their property wasn’t handled the best in that gun display.
Good argument to be made for the .468 SOCOM, as well.
I’d say that if you are using an AR platform for long range accuracy, you’ve selected the wrong tool. It is great at medium short ranges, but long range, pick a better one. I fully appreciate that you will have long range touch, and 50 Beowulf will have that mass to make the F=MA formula pretty good. I see the wisdom in accurate fire, take what you’d like. Either, or both really. Upper swaps are trivial.
Fair, just think that the chance at 1000+ is not as much as at sub 100 for use case.
