Pornhub made money off countless videos that showed rape, women forced into porn and people who never OK’d their explicit encounters to be released, a fiery new lawsuit claims.
Thirty-four women said they ended up on the porn website without their consent in videos that included sexual abuse and assault, so-called revenge porn or footage of them when they were minors, according to a federal lawsuit filed in California on Thursday.
The company put profits over people and exploited victims of sex trafficking and sex crimes, the lawsuit alleges.
“This is a case about rape, not pornography,” attorney Michael Bowe wrote in the 179-page complaint, in which he accuses Pornhub’s parent company Mindgeek of failing to do enough to police non-consensual videos uploaded to its sites.
The 34 women in the suit came from all over the US, as well as the UK, Colombia and Thailand. Their stories include a woman filmed in a private video later made public without her permission – and a woman who was raped while unconscious and never even knew her assault had been filmed.
“Mindgeek is a classic enterprise run, according to those who know it best, ‘just like the Sopranos,’” the lawsuit said.
The lengthy suit outlines a network of “bosses,” “over-bosses,” “capos” and a “Bro Club” of made men. Women who tried to get videos removed faced great difficulties and pushback, the suit alleges.
One victim who lawyered up disappeared after receiving threats, with only a mysterious text from an alleged friend to her attorney saying she was injured and in a coma, the lawsuit claims.
“The victim’s whereabouts and condition are still unknown,” the suit stated.

I watched a tv documentary once where an “agent” who matches women with film makers boasted that every day a girl turns 18 and decides she is going to make a living doing porn, which means he will never run out of clients. He makes a pretty decent living while the girls get used up and tossed aside for a different model every few months. There are some who make fabulous money, enough to entice those newer star wanabees, but most are just being used to feed sites like Pornhub with new material and barely make enough money to slink back home.

With so many porn sites stealing from other porn sites I’m surprised they are not suing each other all the time.
I saw that same show. Idiot chicks thought they were gonna be rich, but only had a shelf life of about 3 months. Then had to go back home and face the parents. And those videos will be online for decades.
Those websites remove videos all the time...not that I go there. LOL
While we all know some women are horribly raped and abused, there are also some women who lie about being raped and abused after giving their consent.
The liberal mindset has promoted a society that adores tramp-stamp tattoos and the sexualization of all, including children, that reaches all the way up to our President. Now the lawyers want to make money off the victims.
This is a self-perpetuating machine.
It’s a tough industry. Customers come in all stripes and sizes and the industry tries to accommodate the ever growing weirdness. I have a college friend that does audio editing/mixing in California and he is a genuinely sweet guy and he works in that industry as well as regular studio work.
He moved to Arizona recently.
These “studios” ambush young women thinking all they have to do is be young and perform in front of the camera. Many of them are taken advantage of and abused because they think they need to take it to be successful. There was a story about a former “star” living under a highway in Vegas because that was better than continuing to live her formerly posh LA lifestyle and getting raped a few times a month for money. Now they are forcing these young women, some of them very petite, into inter-racial scenes and if they object, the get bullied and blacklisted.
There are some sick, sick people out there.
It’s a shame that a growing number of young women think that only value they possess is their private parts.
A century ago, women would marry young, and get started raising a family.
But that was deemed patriarchal, oppressive, and horrible by feminists.
Better for young women to live under bridges.
In this era of easily pirated everything and free pretty much, I fail to see how big porn makes it like it does.
Maybe I am missing something.
I only worked in public TV and produced bits of stock footage.
An acquaintance of mine from Canada went looking for a missing 14yo Canadian girl. He tracked her to Newhall, California. The local cops were utterly useless and this was before the FBI got involved in trafficking...and kudos to them for what they’ve done.
My acquaintance ended up enlisting the help of his friends and the girl was recovered and immediately flown back to Canada.
The concern was that the Newhall PD would give the girl back to the traffickers. They’d apparently done this before.
My point is don’t assume all government opposes the atrocity of child sex trafficking. They don’t.
