Dry heat is better, at least at night when the sun goes down it cools some. Back east when the sun goes down it is still sticky and hot. It stays that way till around 4 AM!!!..

statewide flex alertWe're gonna "flex" the system to make sure WE have power so there's a chance, you might have to do without because WE'RE more important than you.

Quick, call the load dispatcher at PG&E to ramp up the thermal units! Oh, wait. There aren’t any.
To: george76
Same thing happening in Texas right now and it’s unfortunate. They spent a lot of time on other things but neglected to fix the power grid after that disaster in February

Yup...anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that it uses less energy to maintain a constant temperature than to treat your thermostat as a yo-yo.

The propane tank is filled, the generator is ready. I’m anticipating many power shutdowns this summer in NorCal.

Californians encouraged to buy squirrels, squirrel food, and squirrel cages to be able to locally generate electricity.

Many of the plants in AZ that used to ship power to California are now gone. They burned that evil “COAL”!

It was 106 in Belle Fouche, SD on 6/9/2021 according to the P/Us temp display....
NBD, but it reminded me of trips to Death Valley in the summer.

Texas should get a reprieve on the heat wave, middle of next week.

And these jerks want all electric vehicles in the next decade? How do these no-nuke dipshits think these electric vehicles will charged when there’s an energy shortage right now?
It takes a special kind of stupid to be a politician... especially in California.

For the cost of the chop-choo, California could build a half dozen nuke plants and a few reservoirs with hydro providing water to the farmers and power to the grid.
This ain’t rocket science.
Common sense isn’t common anymore.
