National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases head Dr. Anthony Fauci said Wednesday on “CBS This Morning” that it was “a bit of a distortion to say that we deliberately suppressed” the so-called lab leak theory that coronavirus originated from a lab in Wuhan, China.
Co-host Tony Dokoupil said, “We also asked Dr. Fauci about competing theories on the origin of the coronavirus, including the idea that it started not in nature but in a lab in Wuhan, China.”

Fauci acknowledged the effect polling had on his public statements in a recent interview, saying he upped the percentage of people he thought needed to be vaccinated by about 10% from what he previously declared to the public.
“When polls said only about half of all Americans would take a vaccine, I was saying herd immunity would take 70 to 75%,” Fauci said. “Then, when newer surveys said 60% or more would take it, I thought, ‘I can nudge this up a bit,’ so I went to 80, 85.”

If anyone knows “distortion” it is Farci. That is his life.
Distortion is a pretty weak denial. Distortion is what happens when you try to read through the wrong glasses. It can mean out of focus. It can be like looking through a glass of water. You can see what you are looking at and you know what it is but the image is distorted. Thus, he is admitting it.

I literally was suspended from Twitter for arguing this very issue. I was eventually banned for asking for “them random control, peer reviewed studies on the efficacy of face coverings on viruses that are transmitted in aerosol fashion”...but hey follow Dr Science.
