RALEIGH — U.S. Rep. Ted Budd’s campaign team is highlighting new polling data showing the impact of former President Donald Trump’s endorsement in North Carolina’s 2022 U.S. Senate race.

“The Ted Budd for US Senate campaign today released survey results that reveal Ted Budd sees a 45-point net positive swing and surges to a 19-point lead when likely Republican primary voters learn that President Donald Trump has endorsed Ted Budd for US Senate,” according to a news release from the Budd campaign.

“When we asked Republican primary voters for whom would they vote if they knew ‘President Donald Trump spoke at the North Carolina Republican Party’s convention this past weekend and announced that he was endorsing and supporting Ted Budd for U.S. Senate,’ Ted Budd surges to a 19-point lead over McCrory and a 38-point lead over Walker,” Autry said.

With information about the endorsement, 46% of those polled supported Budd, while 27% supported McCrory. Walker’s support dropped to 8%. The percentage of undecided voters dropped to 18%.

“This one piece of information turns McCrory’s 26-point lead into a 19-point deficit,” Autry noted.

The Trump endorsement has other notable impacts. “Fully 30% of McCrory’s initial supporters move to back Ted Budd after hearing about Trump’s endorsement; 34% of Walker’s initial supporters do the same,” according to Autry’s memo.

“Trump’s endorsement pushes Budd to a 25-point lead among core primary voters (Base Republicans who are very conservative) and puts him 11 points ahead of McCrory in the former Governor’s region base, the Charlotte media market,” according to the memo.

De Nile. It's a river in Egypt. Now once the rank and file get over their Trump delusion, GOPeee can go back to being the kind of conservative party that we are all comfortable with.

No they didn't "team up" to steal the election. They simply agreed the situation was deplorable and did nothing, which is what the RINOs do best. At least you have to admire the Democrats for hard work and discipline.

It was a great eye opener when a good friend of mine with a sister politician told me how it all works. The democrats and Republicans, the one who get a head start in state politics all belong to the same political club at State U. I guess the republicans bring beer and sometimes get lucky. So long as they don't make a fuss they are supported for bids in republican districts. IOWs they can't do much about electing republicans, but they can do a lot about which republicans are elected.

I guess it beats studying engineering and having to deal with math and physics.

"GOPeee can go back to being the kind of conservative party that we are all comfortable with."

We need to dump the word "conservative" because the GOPe has debased the word. When I hear conservative I also hear "New World Order", "North American Union", "Compassionate Conservatism", "hobbits", etc.

To hell with the Bush Crime Family and the horses they rode in on.

well yeah. Raffs did something. He signed a consent decree with Staci Abrahams to give her what she wanted. What we don’t know is if he ever even bothered to read it. Remember he is a RINO and RINOs don’t work. If they liked work they wouldn’t be so RINOish.

Oh, I just assumed he got paid off! Why would I assume that while he’s lounging at his beach house?
