The Republican National Committee might skip network TV presidential debates if they aren’t dramatically overhauled before the next election, says David Bossie, president of Citizens United.
“We don’t need to count on just the networks,” Bossie told Hugh Hewitt on his radio show, Politico reported. “There are so many opportunities out there, so many platforms out there that we can go to and partner with to get the message out.”

Indeed. The so-called debates were always a waste of time, at least since 1980 if not before.
It would be easy to design a fair and objective presidential debate format.
But neither party wants that. Both parties want the deck stacked for Progressives. Deciding not to show up is not a strategy.
Televised Debates since 1960:
MEDIA to REPUBLICAN: Why do you hate women & minorities and want to see them dead or enslaved?
MEDIA to DEMOCRATS: Why do Republicans hate women & minorities and want to see them dead or enslaved?
Don’t skip network debates, just make sure the moderator is conservative, has legitimate questions and keeps his mouth shut. On second thought, that ain’t happening. Go ahead and skip them.
Worse than that.
Always a panel of liberals pushing liberal themes, and asking the Republicans “gotcha” questions.
Change the word "might" to "definitely will" and we have a leader.
They need debates, just not with lib moderators.
I will never understand why the Republican Party tolerated these ridiculously lope-sided debate formats.
I once wondered why the republican party did not take any of the great suggestions about the debates that were made in places like Freerepublic. Once I realized that the Republican party is the complicit party, not just the stupid party, I accepted that no amount of information would change anything.
My suggestions for any political debate, and especially for a presidential debate:
1. No moderator. They simply aren’t necessary. Replace the moderator with an electronic timekeeper that automatically shuts off a candidate’s microphone when his/her response time is up.
2. Each candidate gets to appoint two questioners to a four-person panel. What could be fairer than that?
Oh, wait. Today’s Democrats aren’t interested in fair debates. They’d much rather pack the process with their own people. So I guess my idea won’t fly.
These are not really debates at all. They are rigged shows controlled by liberal network personalities who have no interest in honestly exploring the positions of the candidates. The purpose of the “debates” is simply to push the favored candidate forward and diminish the other. The questions are always designed to do that, not to inform the public about important issues.
The pathetic Republican Party goes along with this orchestrated farce cycle after cycle. The networks are laughing behind their backs.
Presidential “debates” began in 1960.
They are a television show.
They are totally a construct of the television industry.
Participating in these “debates” serves only to legitimize this industry and its creation.
Today’s Democrats aren’t interested in fair debates. They’d much rather pack the process with their own people.

Democrats do whatever Republicans allow them to get away with. And that’s a lot.

Because the stupid party is in on the charade.
A 6yo could figure out the media is gonna stick it to the Republican every time there’s a televised debate, yet they continue to attend w known republican hating moderators!
Oh, the Republiweenies eventually will cave long and and let the radical extreme leftist enemedia run the show.
Yeah! They should find an unbiased channel, like YouTube. ;-)
The RNC is useless.
How about a debate where the candidate for only one party shows up because the other candidate decides not to show up.
The other candidate’s responses to the debate questions would be playbacks of his earlier stated views.
We need debates. No one pays attention otherwise. Trump may be guilty of not directing enough of his answers questioning the questioners.
Racism is the big issue weather it really is or isn’t. One debate should have been on that subject alone at Trump’s insistence. Make the rats stand up for themselves and their bs.
