President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin are currently not expected to hold a joint news conference after their June 16 meeting, CNN reported.
Biden and Putin’s much-anticipated meeting comes on the heels of the 2021 G-7 summit. The duo will speak for the first time since Biden took office in Geneva, Switzerland. Two U.S. officials familiar with the matter told CNN that plans currently don’t include a joint press conference.
This would mark a change from Biden’s predecessor, former President Donald Trump, who met with Putin on June 16, 2018, and held a joint press conference afterwards. The details of this particular summit are still being hashed out, though – and likely will be until just before the event begins – so plans could change, according to CNN.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told CNN that Putin is willing to hold a joint press conference, but added that they aren’t expecting one to happen.
“We heard about such a possibility from our American counterparts, but we are still waiting for final confirmation,” he reportedly said.
The administration has given reporters a small glimpse into topics expected to be discussed during Biden’s meeting with Putin. The American president will press Putin on recent hacking attacks against U.S. companies that originated from Russia-based hacking groups. Biden is also looking “to restore predictability and stability to the U.S.-Russia relationship,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki previously noted.

The press will have to make up some outlandish story about Joe having an exercise equipment accident to explain the bruising.
I suspect that about 15 minutes into Biden’s ‘lecture’ to Putin....Putin will lay out cards on the table of the millions illegally transferred to Biden’s PAC team via Hunter’s efforts....with Putin grinning and saying one day, he’ll reveal all of the illegal activities but it’s just not today....then walk out.

IOW, if you can't script the questions and the order they're asked, it makes it much more difficult to script the answers and the order those answers are given in. Biden and his Swiss cheese brain already struggled with this in his last press conference, giving answers to questions that weren't asked and simply ignoring the actual question. Why did he do that? Because he screwed up the order.
He would look like a fool with his note cards....

Biden would look like a dope next to Putin in a press conference. He’s just not up for the job. Such an event is harder to control by team Obama, aka Biden’s handlers.
Biden will not have any foreign press availability. They don’t stick to scripts like the American Main stream media do.

Hard to cut and paste canned and rehearsed responses to pre written questions when someone else is standing next to you.
After calling the Russian leader a killer in front of the world, I would think sleepy joe would be sleeping with one eye open while out of the country. Seem to remember sone Russian detractors getting taken out by very subtle poison and radioactive means in the past. All in what they felt safe EU locations like England. I bet joe’s food taster is not loving his job this week.
What do you expect? All his questions have to be submitted prior to the press conference so it can be scripted.
Exactly right. I wonder if all those leaders at the summit know of Biden’s corruption. It’s just embarrassing to have a president that has knowingly taken 10% for the big guy and the whole world knows it. They must just laugh at his tough talk on China and Russia. What a nightmare he is. There he and Jill are going around with the Queen and Kate and William. Surely they all know what a crook he is.
Biden needs a super controlled environment.
