WASHINGTON (7News) — Two passengers aboard the first fully-vaccinated cruise in North America have tested positive for COVID-19 during disembarkation testing.
Celebrity released this statement Thursday:
"Today two guests sharing a stateroom onboard Celebrity Millennium tested positive for COVID-19 while conducting the required end of cruise testing. The individuals are asymptomatic and currently in isolation and being monitored by our medical team. We are conducting contact tracing, expediting testing for all close contacts and closely monitoring the situation.
Celebrity Millennium is sailing with fully vaccinated crew and guests and following comprehensive protocols that align with our destination partners and exceed CDC guidelines to protect the health and safety of our guests. All guests on Celebrity Millennium were required to show proof of vaccination as well as a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours before sailing from St. Maarten this past Saturday. This situation demonstrates that our rigorous health and safety protocols work to protect our crew, guests and the communities we visit."
There were strict requirements to go on this cruise. The boarding requirements were:
All guests age 16 and above should be fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to sail date. As of August 1, 2021, all guests age 12 and older must be fully vaccinated. All guests must present proof of vaccination and required travel documents at terminal check-in. All guests ages 2 and up must present a negative RT-PCR test taken 72 hours prior to arrival to St. Maarten. This requirement differs from St. Maarten entry requirements which are 120 hours prior to departure. Name on test results must match those on government-issued identification. Unvaccinated children between the ages of 2-15 must complete an additional test at the terminal prior to boarding.

It goes to show how useless all these measures are. They just don’t work.
The Diamond Princess cruise ship had 712 COVID-19 cases and 14 deaths.
This ship has 2 cases, both asymptomatic, no sign of spread, and no deaths.
The safety protocols are useless and just don’t work? In what universe?

“Required” end of cruise testing? Why would that be required for folks who are not feeling ill?
I would guess it’s to verify there isn’t some silent spread taking place aboard the ship. Doesn’t seem particularly useful in a practical way. I don’t know what somebody thinks would be actionable from that.
Probably a boatload of people.
Reminder: These vaccines do NOT prevent you from getting Covid.
Wonder if the testing is with nasal swabs or saliva...
These people may not even have CoupFlu.
I wonder if the alleged passengers will follow up with more testing to see if they do indeed have CoupFlu.
And if turns our they really don’t, I hope they sue the living crap out if the cruise line.
I’m also wondering if this whole thing has been staged by the cruise line.

Run the tests again and see if you get the same results.

I’m sure you just upset the Covid Cultist Society (CCS) here on FR. They wait for the daily covid numbers a drool when they see the vaccination updates.
Another article quotes Celebrity as saying they only require 95% vaccination and that the vaccination status of these passengers is unknown.
