Stanford Scientist Gave a Diagnosis of Anthony Fauci's Credibility. You May Want to Sit Down.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is busted stuff. He's damaged goods. He's a liar. He needs to go away. Every time he gets on television to stroke his ego, he only damages the very institutions entrusted with fighting pathogens and preparing for future pandemics. The medical expert community is finished for a while. There's no reason to listen to them ever again. They said wear masks but didn't tell us that the store-bought products were useless. There was no such thing as asymptomatic spread. He thought a COVID vaccine wasn't necessary, and there's quite a paper trail concerning Fauci, the NIH, EcoHealth Alliance, and the grants doled out to the Wuhan virology lab that might be the epicenter for this pandemic.

Steve Hatfill has a fairly good reputation - but I can't believe he wrote this: "Dr. Anthony Fauci MD promotes a single layer of gloves for nursing Ebola patients and other inadequate protective measures. His instructions endanger the lives of health care workers, and national guidelines for protection must be urgently updated."

!0 FR points to anyone who can tell us what's wrong with the quote.

“From a public health standpoint there’s no real difference between pre- and asymptomatic cases because you can’t tell them apart. You have to treat everyone as potentially contagious.”

It does make a difference, because it has an impact on the likelihood that a given person without symptoms (infected or not) will transmit the disease. For example, if “presymptomatic” cases turn out to represent a very tiny percentage of the population, then the costs/risks of masks might outweigh the benefits, even if masks protect perfectly. All the more so if they don’t. And I imagine, particularly after accounting for false positives on Covid tests, that “asymptomatic cases” represent a sizable percentage of all cases.

Seems to me you want more than merely gloves for Ebola patients. Double gloves for AIDS, I’ve heard of.

The paper said the greatest spread was from presympromatic people and we know we had a lot of spread.

If you limit masks to people with symptoms you're missing the riskiest population.

Reductio ad absurdum — what if only one person were presymptomatic, who had a “lot of spread”? Would it still be worthwhile to lock down and mask the entire population of the United States, and to shutter its businesses and places of worship? Clearly, there are many more than one, but my point is, that number is relevant to policy decisions.

The CDC under Thomas Frieden was in charge of Ebola response, including isolation precautions and personal protective equipment.

I convinced my hospital to spend $250K on body suits and all the other stuff in late August 2014. In early September, CDC announced paper gowns, paper masks, and single gloves were adequate.

Dr. Frieden was point man for all of it. I even got told I was “off message”.

On September 28, Thomas Eric Duncan, visiting from Liberia, walked into that hospital in Dallas and infected two nurses who followed CDC guidance in every detail.

Anthony Fauci was head of NIAID, then as now, and had nothing to do with the CDC, infection prevention, or hospital safety measures. In all the intense activity around Ebola from August through December, I never even heard his name (although obviously I knew who he was).

Why do we need to sit down?
There is nothing new or surprising here.
Fauci is a liar and a shill for Big Gov/Big Pharma.

Who with a three digit IQ didn’t know that?

Wouldn’t wearing more than 1 layer of gloves be counter-productive since they aren’t designed to be worn like that?

Kind of like trying to wear 2 condoms...

...that number is relevant to policy decisions.

The more relevant number is 600k Covid deaths.

It would be foolish not to address the population most responsible for spreading the disease no matter how big it is.

Ebola is transmitted principally by sweat and blood.

Working with patients it’s easy to tear a glove, that’s what the second glove is for.

Have to wonder if Trump had gone the swine flu route (serious but not something to put life on hold for) instead of putting 100% trust in this guy initially..
