ABC’s Hostin: Despicable ‘Right-Wing Truth Assassins’ Trying to Hide America’s Slavery History
breitbart ^ | 21 May 2021 | PAM KEY

ABC News legal analyst and co-host of “The View” Sunny Hostin said on Friday’s broadcast it is “despicable” that “right-wing truth assassins” are trying to hide America’s history of slavery.

Co-host Joy Behar said, “Nikole Hannah-Jones is a Pulitzer Price winning journalist for her work on the 1619 Project, The New York Times series that traces American history of Slavery. She is also a professor at the University of North Carolina who was set to be granted tenure — which is for life, as you might know — but after pushback from conservatives, she was offered a five-year contract instead…UNC said their board of trustees had nothing to do with denying her tenure. Really? Are you buying that, Sunny?”

Hostin said, “No. It’s not true. This has been dug into and researched. What’s so interesting, Joy, is she’s the first night professor at UNC to be denied tenure. We know what this is about. This is about the right-wing truth assassins that don’t want people to know about the truthful history, the uncomfortable truthful history about this country. I think it’s shameful. You hear so much about cancel culture from people on the right, from these conservatives, what more kind of canceling exists than squashing freedom of expression in academia?”

She added, “Tenure is supposed to be there to protect professors, to protect their academic work from politicization. This is exactly what has happened here. I think it’s so despicable that people want to hide the truth about this country’s history in this way. I’m saddened by what happened here.”

It’s boring to see them blame America for what the British Empire did.

We had a &$_(++& civil war in which hundreds of thousands died to end it.

How is that “hiding” anything?

Slavery still haunts Africa, where millions remain captive -

Who is hiding the fact that the Democrats are the ones who
supported slavery and fought a Civil War to defend it?

Who is hiding the fact the KKK was a Democrat creation, and
exclusive party apparatus?

Who is hiding the fact that the 1960s Civil Rights laws could
not pass in the Democrat majority House and Senate without a
lot of Republican votes?

Who is denying the race baiting by Obama and now Biden?

It is all make believe, but the Left cares more about alleged slavery 400 years ago than real modern slavery in China that makes the cheap goods they use.

I’ve had slavery shoved in my face all my life. At school and most documentaries and “news” reports.

The 1619 Project is not truth - it’s a pack of lies - and easy to verify as such and it has been done many times over.

Slavery was nothing unique to the Americas - it was an evil that existed in the world that was simply inherited. One thing that was unique about the USA’s founding, however, was the significant amount of opposition to slavery within the country that existed at that time.

yes indeed - literal slavery is occurring right before our eyes due to our open borders that the media and the Left don’t have a problem with as it doesn’t fit the narrative.

A bunch of cackling left wing twats on the Commie View..

It was democrats who supported slavery, who formed the KKK after the Civil War, and were against voting rights and civil rights during the 1950’s and 1960’s.

When you take down statues and monuments, and teach CRT and social activism instead of actual history, then you get erased history. Other than the stark and indisputable fact that the USA found slavery so repulsive, the lack of interest in freed slaves in returning to Liberia/Sierra Leone so frustrating, and was so collectively sick of 300 years of revolts, murders and violence committed by slave and freeman alike, it was the only country on earth to fight a war against their own people to bring an end to slavery (but not indenturement).

Hey Hostin- Here’s Some truth for ya!

“However, if institutions carry burdens of guilt, then let’s get more specific. It was the Democratic party in the United States that was most responsible for slavery and Jim Crow.

At the time of the Civil War, all slaveholders were Democrats, or at least no one has found an exception at this time. And the Democratic Party was the party of Jim Crow, as well. Although the KKK was not officially aligned with the Democratic party, it consisted of white Democrats who terrorized both white and black Republicans (mostly black ones).

One of the rationales that some Democrats had for slavery was that blacks were unable to take care of themselves, so slavery was actually good for them. This attitude sounds reprehensible today; however, the Democratic Party still treats blacks as if they are unable to stand on their own and require a dependence on government.

Now, some Democrats will say “wait a minute, this isn’t fair, the Democratic Party of today isn’t the same as it was historically!”

However, the United States as a whole isn’t the same as it was historically, either. SJWs who go around browbeating Americans over a history of slavery, the KKK, and Jim Crow can’t then complain when we point out that it was actually the Democratic Party which was most involved in this history.”
