The administration hopes to transfer a handful of the remaining terrorism suspects to foreign countries, the people familiar with the discussions said, and then persuade Congress to permit the transfer of the rest — including 9/11 suspects — to detention on the U.S. mainland. The left wants to try the 9/11 suspects in U.S. civilian courts rather than in U.S. military courts. That's the difference. Easier to get them off if they are categorized as common criminals rather than the war criminals they truly are.

Feature not a bug for the Deep State - the resulting attack(s) on the Homeland will either result in a return to illegal Mideast wars, will be connected to the mysterious “White Supremacists”, or both.

Well, where would Hillary, and Obama, and Biden go if not Gitmo? (there's a rhyme there.)

Those mutants never should have been brought there in the first place. U.S. military courts have no jurisdiction in these cases, and arresting foreigners in combat zones to face charges in U.S. civilian courts is absurd on its face.

Gitmo should be moved to Adak.

Why are they breathing 20 years after the fact?

Biden wants to try them in civilian courts? Good! At least they will be tried.
Bush and Trump had 12 years - YEARS - to try them under the laws and usages of war and did nothing.

At least civilian courts are able to run trials, find people guilty, and sentence them. And occasionally even execute them.

The military isn't very good at any of those things. Look up the case of Nidal Hassan, who was the US Army major who opened up on his fellow troops at Ft. Hood in Nov. of 2009 is still alive, despite having been sentenced to death by Aug, 2013 the army had managed to try him, find him guilty and sentence him to death.

But, he's still alive.

Biden has no idea what’s going on. His handlers are pushing for this radical agenda.

Oh sure. When they get the right verdict on the right defendant.

Biden isn’t the key factor in closing this facility, its being done by his Clinton and Obozo advisors.

Civilian trial, military tribunal, summary execution by dropping them out of a helicopter into the Gauntanimo Bay...
whatever the outcome, it’s long past time to get it done. I think we can all agree that two decades is too long for these loose ends to still be dangling. The US government has had ample time to prove a case against the bad guys, otherwise let them go with time served or shoot them as enemy combatants.
