Pardon me, Ray, are you the guy who signs the pardons ...

In the style of Chattanooga Choo Choo.

“Officials say at least five witnesses in the case were murdered or killed themselves...”

Wow, they weren’t taking any chances. “Killed themselves” — yeah, right.

My Family is from McNairy County, Tennessee, and I knew almost all of Blanton’s cronies. There was so much corruption in that county one questioned the veracity of anyone that tried to expose it. The families that were involved in McNairy County corruption and Alcorn County, Mississippi, are still directing much of the Federal money that goes into that area. Worldcom, the Stanford Ponzi scheme, and the Marty Frankel embezzlement all have close ties to that area. I lost all faith in the FBI with their handling of crime in the area.

It took an honest Democrat AG, Bill Leech, from Columbia, Tn, to take down Blanton.

I hate to see that phrase “tied to” in a headline. It usually means they are trying to smear someone with Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.

The song “Pardon me, Ray” was based on Blanton pardoning a staffer convicted of a double-murder.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-U79j8Ck7O0

On Monday night and early yesterday, Mr. Blanton signed 52 such executive clemency documents, including the pardons or commutations for 23 convicted murderers. The most controversial of these was for Roger Humphreys, the son of Mr. Blanton’s former patronage chief for eastern Tennessee. Mr. Humphreys was convicted of shooting his former wife and her male companion 18 times with a two‐shot pistol, reloading at least eight times to lace their bodies with bullets at point‐blank range.

That commutation by Mr. Blanton, which was denounced by virtually every major public official in Tennessee, spurred the public outcry that preceded today’s action.

Blanton was defended by Labor Lawer Supreme, John McClellan. McClellan never attended law school

All were rotten to the core.

In a surprise to the world, Lamar Alexander the newly elected governor was sworn and occupied the governor’s offices nearly a month before the normally scheduled formal January inauguration.

Blanton was deprived of his last days in office to accomplish his nefarious pardons and other such acts
