Why Atlanta's richest neighborhood wants to secede from the city Atlanta (CNN)In Atlanta's well-to-do community of Buckhead, the debate over becoming an independent city has been brewing off and on for decades. Now, amid a spike in crime, calls to split from the capital have grown louder than ever.
"We filed for divorce and our divorce is final," said Bill White, chairman and CEO of the Buckhead City Committee, which is spearheading the efforts for the formation of the city. "We're forming our own city, we're establishing our own police force and we will eradicate crime." The city of Atlanta is facing what Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has called a "Covid crime wave."

Did you see the spree drive-by shooting this weekend? Black male in his early 20s decided he was going to shoot some joggers. He fired at at least three (in different locations), striking one twice. He was arrested this today.
I’ve been told the three victims were white yet it doesn’t appear they’re investigating the shootings as a ‘hate crime.’ Instead, police are saying it was a ‘mental health crisis.’ Sure.

Yes, and I know one of the victims who was shot at 8:30 am. An hour later the same POS hit another white man taking his garbage to the street.

Atlanta is a money pit of black crime and welfare state spending. The only way to deal with the problem is to separate your neighborhood from the Atlanta government. In other words: secede from the city of Atlanta.

Also, just curious if you had also heard all the vics were white (a detail that has gone unmentioned in the press reports). Imagine if a white shooter had targeted four black victims.

It is not a local deviation. The crime wave Atlanta is experiencing, is being likewise experienced by citizens of Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc. etc. Consequently, it is not unreasonable to conclude that they all have a similar or the same cause: stupidity.
Ask an 8 year old child if abolishing the police will “solve” crime or violence. He or she would say no. What do these children know, that the elected Democrat leaders of these cities are unaware of? They know that stupidity is often self destructive, even suicidal.
This one truth should be enough to dethrone all of the idiots that burden the citizens of those cities, unless stupidity has become a civic virtue. I certainly hope not.
No, the news isn’t reporting that the victims have been white. Almost every night, Buckhead is a hotbed of crime, guns, angry blacks out to let us white folks know they don’t like us. And they brag on Twitter and Snapchat ‘those whities get what they deserve...’. Or ‘let’s take something away from those rich folks...’.
No wonder the police force at Zone 2 precinct left. The Mayor isn’t supporting them.

Went back a few years back. The Atlanta Underground was non-existent. Used to be a bustling, vibrant place.
Why did Underground Atlanta go down?... .

Last time I visited...Underground had NOTHING there except tents with counterfeit goods. And my white @$$ was not welcome. Hostile attitude and atmosphere.
Chattahoochee Hills in Ga did exactly that.
