Every politician attempts to straddle the fence on every issue for as long as possible. That’s because declaring for one thing over another automatically divides your supporters who wanted A or B into just A or just B. The earlier you make the divide before an election, the greater the forces aligned against you. Hence, strategic ambiguity.
Pence would need to make one hell of a deal with Trump, or bring something to the table Trump needed. (This is why Biden choosing Harris is so startling. She brought only negatives to the table.)
The table was already set. The fix was in.
Would Trump commit to NOT running with Pence? That might be the real question, though we can probably read between the lines a little bit.

Don’t discount skin pigment.
There are few things that would get me to drop my support, picking Pence again would be one of them.
Endorsing George P. Bush would be another.
If Trump runs, the one thing I’d bet some money on is that Pence will NOT be his running mate. Pence has shown his true colors in a way that is unforgettable & considering what the Biden Regime is doing to destroy America, unforgivable.

You have to know which side FOX is on. It’s a win-win question for their Chinese masters. It puts Trump in an awkward spot while trying to hang this albatross around his neck.
