Thanks for the ping. Lots of cruise stuff happening fast now. -Tom
Civic does not spread via asymptomatic people either. If you do not have a fever and obvious symptoms you probably aren’t contagious,or not severely so.
In that case, a simple test would do.

“If you’ve been vaccinated, then why do you care?“

The anti-cruise/anti-vaxxers are so busy trying to be glib, they are missing the obvious point that the foreign ports will all have their own rules about who can visit and disembark. Many of these countries will require vaccine.
Also if the rate of non-vaccinated on board is so high as to lead to a covid outbreak- the ship could be quarantined or stranded - in a replay of the fiascos we saw last March 2020.
I am fully vaccinated and eager to cruise. I am apprehensive about sailing with a bunch of anti-vaxers who could end up stranding the ship in some foreign country and ruining the trip for everyone.
I have never taken a cruise, although I’ve been on a number of ship, but I am a free market capitalist, an American, and I want these cruise lines to do well. They account for a large part of many local and national economies. I am in the aviation industry, and cruises are a large part of the flying public coming and going to cruises.
wait a minute here...
the vaccine is supposed to protect you from exposure...
right?...
“Also if the rate of non-vaccinated on board is so high as to lead to a covid outbreak”
You can stop with the silliness right there. So far, the vaccinated outnumber the non-vaccinated in percentages of so-called cases. These “vaccines” have been shown to do little if anything to stop whatever this outbreak has been.
Is that true? I’ve not seen that anywhere.
I have. Posted by CDC sources no less. Wife also is in healthcare and she gets the weekly NIH/CDC calls. 65% of new cases have been attributed to vaccinated people.
65% ‼️
And the vaccinated population is about 50%
Wow.
65%?
That’s a good number to have in the back pocket. Can you post a link to the CDC data you are referring to?
Go google for it. Everybody else does. These numbers change all the time, so I don’t keep them around.
Any non-medical entity is violating HIPAA laws if they require a vaccine passport.
Thank you, Gov DeSantis!!
Showing what real spine (etc) of steel is all about.
Total and complete BS. Everything I see shows the opposite to a much larger degree.
You made the assertion now back it up with CDC reports. Total BS.
Interesting. I called a local travel agency right before I posted and initially the said they had no information on how unvaccinated travelers would be treated they said they would call me back after I said I wasn’t prepared to book unless I knew beforehand.
A couple of hrs later they called and told me the company had no plans for any specific actions to be implemented in the case of those unable or unwilling to show proof of vaccination.
Personally I believe the whole issue is a PR stunt and I also think it will backfire unless every other cruise line does the same thing.
We were looking at cruising out of Miami. Maybe that makes a difference ?
Then they all went home to their respective parts of the state. And 2.5 weeks later, the largest school district in the state, with 31600 kids, currently has 6 positive covid cases. The district with the most positives has 36 active cases, out of 14600 students.
Awe, schucks Sunshine, you’re just not my hero.
