Former Vice President Mike Pence on Thursday said he’s spoken “many times” with former President Donald Trump since they left office and that they don’t “see eye to eye” on the events of Jan. 6. But he said Republicans “must move forward united” and focus on opposing President Biden’s agenda.
Pence called the Capitol riot a “dark day,” but said that it was being used as a smokescreen to facilitate Biden’s agenda.
“As I said that day, Jan. 6 was a dark day in the history of the United States Capitol. But thanks to the swift action of the Capitol Police and federal law enforcement, violence was quelled, the Capitol was secured and that same day we reconvened the Congress and did our duty under the Constitution and the laws of the United States,” Pence said in a speech to the Hillsborough County Republicans in Manchester, NH.
“You know, President Trump and I have spoken many times since we left office, and I don’t know if we’ll ever see eye to eye on that day. But I will always be proud of what we accomplished for the American people over the last four years,” Pence said.
“I will not allow Democrats or their allies in the media to use one tragic day to discredit the aspirations of millions of Americans — or allow Democrats and their allies in the media to distract our attention from a new administration intent on dividing our country to advance their radical agenda.”
He added: “My fellow Republicans, for our country, for our future, for our children and our grandchildren, we must move forward united.”
Pence, 61, had a pacemaker implanted in April. Trump reportedly learned about the operation from the news.

I know you don’t Mike.
Go away, Mike(Benedict Arnold)Pence!

Get off the stage Pence, your time is over.
Never forget that Pence was part of the Boehner, Ryan, Cantor, McCarthy House leadership team.
You only get there if you are a Bush League Republican.
Trump: “Get thee behind me, Pence”.
Great recap of these two ‘who aren’t to be trusted’.
What violence?
It's too bad that Pence did not take the opportunity of this NYPost interview to mention that there were about 200,000 patriots on the DC Mall on Jan. 6, most of whom did not go anywhere near the Capitol, much less into it. Most Americans have no idea of the size of the MAGA crowd that was there.
January 6th was a demonstration that wasn’t “nearly” as bad as the riot of 1/20/17.
Pence is grifting here. Swamp gas oozes out of him. Fundraising, paying a staff, etc. It’s the second oldest beltway profession.
Mike, you and Karen can both save yourselves a lot of time, money and embarrassment by just doing a U Turn and going home. The reverberasions of Voter Fraud continue to resonate throughout the conservative party.
Let’s put it this way:
“All your bags are packed, but you’re not ready to go.”
...and you never will be, Mike.
Go away Mike.
You’ve screwed over Americans long enough.
“As I said that day, Jan. 6 was a dark day in the history of the United States Capitol”
The Swamp critter RINO pos doesn’t get why Jan 6 was a dark day. Could there be a bigger disconnect between Trump voters and the disastrous choice of a VP.
Judas Pence
He didn’t only fail his running mate, he failed the American people and his obligations to the Constitution. And he doesn’t seem aware of any of that. It’s no wonder that people like David Icke draw conclusions about an alien life form controlling our planet. Although I think he’s technically wrong about it, in spiritual terms he seems to be 100% right.
I can understand an absence of conscience on the left, it seems like a requirement to hold those beliefs. But to have an absence of conscience on the right, in particular among social conservatives, seems like an impossible combination and makes you wonder what this man really believes. The best case scenario is just that he failed to pick up clues evident to many in plain sight. But he doesn’t seem that stupid to me.
No. The real Dark Day is when Pence refused to do his duty and send the certifications from the states that shutdown their elections for hours and hours, an unprecedented act, and then came back online to show a Miraculous Biden win while ignoring the HUNDREDS of Sworn Affidavits by eyewitnesses swearing to witness thousands of irregularities in those states.
The Vice-Backstabber needs to get the hell out of the GOP and over to the Party of Thieves where he belongs.
I think it was larger than 200,000.
I was there (but not inside)
WOW!
Just F’N WOW!
That’s so revealing.
