Students and other people walking around the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C., signed a fake petition ahead of Memorial Day to ban the holiday honoring fallen military service members.
The petition, authored by Campus Reform, a conservative news site and higher-education watchdog, calls for support to ban Memorial Day in the U.S. for glorifying "American Imperialism." Campus Reform reporter Addison Smith interviewed those who signed the petition in a video published on the outlet's website.
Fox Nation contributor and retired Marine bomb technician Joey Jones told "Fox & Friends Weekend" on Saturday that one of the young men in the video appeared to be about the same age as he was when he fought in his first war.
"Have you ever seen the movie ‘Frozen’? I've got a 2-year-old daughter. I watch it a lot more than I want to," Jones said, making an analogy. "There's a snowman in the movie ‘Frozen,' and he's so stupid and ignorant to the world around him, he can't wait until summer. He sings a whole song about summer, and he's a snowman."

“We sleep soundly in our beds, because rough men stand ready in the night to do violence on those who would harm us.”
Orwell cited Kipling’s phrase “making mock of uniforms that guard you while you sleep” (Kipling, Tommy), and further noted that Kipling’s “grasp of function, of who protects whom, is very sound. He sees clearly that men can be highly civilized only while other men, inevitably less civilized, are there to guard and feed them.” (1942)
Clearly these young people have an abundance of enthusiasm, they just don’t know where to place it. I lay that at the doorstep of the parents who never inculcated their youth with the spirit and ideals of what it is that makes up America, and college “professors” (really indoctrinators) who persist in denying the plain truth before their eyes.
America works, and works well, for those who believe and apply to their daily lives the precepts of God, family, and nation, embodied in the Declaration of Independence and the words of the US Constitution, most especially the Bill of Rights. This body of laws only works for a moral people that understand simple reciprocity and apply it.
They go to College and are Brainwashed
Georgetown, the cesspool of woke, and an institution that personifies the failure of American patriotism.
Lots of people (with whatever intention) get Memorial day wrong.
The local church has a vet get and give a veterans day “speech” rather than a memorial to the fallen.
The Indy 500, okay... but off-point, I guess all the 3 day weekends were already booked way-back-when.
I have been known to go up to Chester’s gravesite (a leisurely 45 min country drive) as it is the only thing around my place.
But I keep it respectful, likr my father always did. But with turkey.
I’m glad all my uncles made it through, and they all were in the thick of it during WWII. Whether sunk, torped, shot up, captured... all 7 blood uncles lived to tell their tales, and remembered fondly, and with sadness, the fallen hero’s they served with. What a great bunch of mentors! They’re all passed now. A dieu!
Student someone in the process of being educated some times it doesn’t stick.
But think they know it all any way.
