Katie Boyd Britt, the president and CEO of the Business Council of Alabama, is expected to jump into the Alabama Senate race next month as some Republicans in the state seek an alternative to Rep. Mo Brooks, who has already earned former President Donald Trump's endorsement, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.
Some Republicans are unnerved at the slash-and-burn politics of Brooks -- who led the charge in Congress to overturn the 2020 election results -- and view him as an unreliable ally to the business community. They hope the next Alabama senator will continue the legacy of the retiring Sen. Richard Shelby, the top Republican on the Appropriations Committee, who delivered federal funding and largesse for the state. Britt previously served as Shelby's chief of staff.

Maybe Kelly Loeffler can move across the state line.
Katie Boyd Britt.
Just like Shelley Moore Capito
Or Cathy McMorris Rodgers
A nice Establishment name.
Those aren't Alabama Republicans.
Mo's done yeoman work. He's got my vote.
Now, if the Deep State can just find some teenage girls that said Mo dated them in the 70s, maybe the Baptists here will turn on him like they did Judge Moore.
But I don't see Mo as anything like Moore, and so do most Alabamians.
People need to remember that Mo Brooks is not controversial at all, because his statements and actions are what the GOP voters here want.
Maybe to RINOs elsewhere, or in Wash DC, but in regular flyover country, Mo's a hero.
Britt is a virtual unknown...maybe around commerce groups, she’s hung out. Far as I know....never run for any political office (big negative I think).
Only other person that might be interesting is Mayor Battle out of Huntsville (better suited to be the next governor).
NO TO RINOS!! Go MO!
It’s Mo for Me.

This could have been written by Cocaine Mitch himself.
McConnell will funnel lots of money into the primary against Brooks, because he can’t control Brooks.
It's hard to break out of your region as a mayor.
Statewide or national candidates do better, but it's hard for even a Representative to get noticed. During the last race, a lot of good conservatives were like “Who is Mo?” Everyone knew who Tuberville was, though.
Now because he's run in the past, and especially been such a strong supporter to Trump (which CNN thinks is a BAD thing in Alabama—lofl!), Mo's got that name recognition.
Go Mo!!!
MSN?
Yeah, right, they’ll be fair to the right. /s
Nothing associated with Gate’s corrupt (and largly inept) company should be trusted.
Mo Brooks is SOLID!
If I lived in Alabama I’d support Brooks, but he showed terrible political instincts in 2017 when he ran in the GOP primary for the special election to replace Jeff Sessions. He never should have run his mouth and built his campaign on a promise to vote against Mitch McConnell as the Senate GOP leader. It was an empty promise and did nothing but undermine his support from the GOP leadership.
Inversely, see how the media condemns Republicans who do their duty?
Voters in Alabama will have their choice between an individual who did his duty to the Constitution and the State of Alabama and its People without counting the cost. Or they can vote for the other person.
Will the voters of Alabama stand by him or abandon him?
As Tip O’Neil once said, “All politics are local.”
Mitch McConnell and Senate RINOs are not worshiped in Alabama, far from it.
Alabama has a current of Populism, for good or bad, running in its blood.
Not being supported by the GOP leadership didn’t hurt Roy Moore until Operation Petticoat was launched by the democrats (well, and probably the GOPe).
Do not forget what McConell did to Mo a few years back.
Looks like McConell is once again pulling strings
Katie Boyd Britt Is hand selected by Shelby. This the person he wants to continue in the Senate. I don’t dislike Shelby but it isn’t his seat it’s the people’s seat. Shelby stayed too long.
Shelby was a Democrat and pretend Goper .
A snake .
His choice is just as bad .
We need more cheap labor type of person?
