Sen. Tim Scott Rips Defund Police Movement: ‘Demonizing Officers Results In Crime Spike’

Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., told "The Faulkner Focus" on Thursday that the surge in violent crime is "devastating" and that it’s "expected" when there are growing calls to defund the police.

"You cannot make police officers the antagonist in the story. No one wants that," Scott told Fox News host Harris Faulkner.

Scott made the comments after Attorney General Merrick Garland unveiled a plan to give federal help to cities around the nation in an effort to reduce violent crime.

The announcement comes one year after the murder of George Floyd, which sparked new riots and violent protests.

"I think the Democrats, literally led by the liberal elite, have made a bad calculation and it's costing lives," Scott said. "We're seeing that in Los Angeles. We're seeing in Minneapolis, we're seeing that in Detroit. We're seeing in the D.C. Baltimore, violent crime is significantly higher and murders, Harris, murders are through the roof."

This to shall pass..... Sadly some people need to learn the hard way. Society needs police. It's obvious without them that way too many people don't understand the importance of basic morality and mutual respect for communities to thrive.

Who should we blame for the surge in violent crime if the defunding of the police hasn’t actually happened? It’s not a trick question.

Not devastating if Rat voters (real and fake) are bearing the brunt. Good riddance.

The states better do everything they can to keep the feds OUT of local policing.. It will no doubt end up like our educational system..

Absolutely. When the world no longer needs locks on doors, alarm systems, bars on windows, surveillance cameras, and ever-changing passwords for electronic devices, etc., maybe then we won't need police.

Who should we blame for the surge in violent crime if the defunding of the police hasn't actually happened?

Those who are filled with hatred and resentment, AND those who encourage and fuel that hatred and resentment.

Yeah, it's called civilization.. There's a lot of folks running around acting like vicious animals. If left to their own devices they would bring their society right back into mud huts..

"The Faulkner Focus"

Boy, that Tim, what a leader!! Not every elected hack would do what he did, to go on the Harris "Don't mention Soros" Faulkner show and say that defunding the police is a bad idea. He's a regular George S. Patton.

Crime spike?

Is that what happens when you and Miss Lindsey helped install a senile fraudulently “elected” Communist puppet government of the CCP on January 6th?

DemoKKKrats: the party of waste, fraud, corruption, perversion and general insanity.
