It’s no secret that Dr. Fauci is a notorious liar, but his most recent lie in front of Congress might be his most detrimental.
While being interviewed on Real America’s Voice, Paul was asked directly if Fauci perjured himself during his recent testimony on Capitol Hill, and here’s what he said.
“Absolutely,” Paul responded. “He lied to the America people. There was gain of function research going on with Dr. Shi Zhengli at the Wuhan Institute,”
“In her paper, she actually thanked Dr. Fauci and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which is a part of National Institutes of Health (NIH) that Dr. Fauci runs,” Paul continued.
“It’s listed at the end of the paper. This paper was fined by NIAID research and it lists a ten digit number that identifies the research money she got from from the United States. Was it gain of function?” Paul continued.

Those two passages diminish the value of the article. It’s unfortunate that Dr. Fauci is a public figure because that means he can’t sue the author for making an unproven and damaging assertion.
I don’t worship Dr. Fauci but it’s actually a good thing that his thoughts change as the pandemic progresses and new data is available.

There is something seriously wrong with your logic....meaning you exhibit none.
It depends on what the definition of “gain of function research” is. For Dr. Fauci, at the hearing, it could have meant “polar bears” or “open face cream cheese sandwiches”. Who knows? Then he wouldn’t be lying, so no worries.

This isn’t about changing his opinion (like whether you need a mask or not), this was blatantly saying he didn’t fund gain of function and then Paul finding evidence that he did fund it. He lied.
