One of the constants in American politics is that both parties love to recycle candidates, no matter whether they’ve won or lost. I’ve often likened it to the head coaching ranks of the NFL, where one can milk a career out of a single so-so season. The unimaginative people in charge prioritize familiarity over originality. That’s how Joe Biden emerged as the Democratic nominee from a large, young, and diverse field for 2020.
It’s also the reason that Beto O’Rourke just won’t go away. The uncomfortably spastic former congressman has found yet another windmill to tilt at: the Texas governor’s office.
The Hill:
Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) is reportedly weighing another bid for higher office — this time for Texas governor.
That the former Senate candidate and 2020 presidential contender is thinking about launching a challenge to Gov. Greg Abbott (R) was first reported on Monday by The Associated Press. There’s currently no timeline for a decision, and he has only begun to think about it recently, according to the news outlet.
If he does end up challenging Abbott, it would mark O’Rourke’s third consecutive election cycle seeking statewide or national elected office.

Don’t be so sure. In the last 4 years a ton of liberals have moved into that state.
Good thing he’s got a rich wife.
Think Saddam.. Mother of all elections.
Uncomfortably spastic?
Did you know Beto is not a Mexican. He plays like he’s a Mexican, but he’s not. His real name is Robert Francis O’Rourke and he is a blithering idiot.
He has to keep running to keep the money idiots donated.
A very strange career path. Perpetually running for election and losing.
The rich boy has to have something to do.
His wife of not so smart.
She is supporting a perpetual teenager.
I cannot understand why these rich turds have to run out and screw the rest of the world. His wife is an heiress to a half a billion dollars. He married well. So can’t he sit out on the patio of his thousand acre vacation house and perfect his smoked brisket technique? Maybe buy a sports car? Get a pilots license?
Go the hell away.
If Beto ran against Little P, I’d have to vote for the Irishman instead of the Mexican.
I know. He’s a fraud from Day One. Unfortunately, for the folks that vote for him none of that matters. They could care less.
Well, he may have to primary Matthew McConaughey. Would present quite the conundrum for Austin suburban women 😂…
You ain’t lyin’
What happens when McConaughey has to take a stance on the homeless and other liberal policies that have turned Austin into a dump?
He’s either just another liberal like Beto or the knives come out against him for turning his back on liberal policies.
He’s a moron. Their debates could be some type of comic relief. Two morons who live in fantasy land telling the people of Texas about the rainbows, unicorns and lollipops.
go for it el paso pussy cat!
As far as I’m concerned Abbott should direct the DPS to contract a bunch of front loaders and dump trucks and have them go down the streets and scoop all the $h!t up, including the free loaders if they refuse to get out of the way, haul everything to the city dump and burn it all.
Beto = tyrant. Nuff said:

Business Owners Fined For Refusing To Clean Up Human Waste
In many Leftist cities, officials have recently relaxed laws prohibiting things like camping or sleeping on the streets, urinating and defecating in public, and shooting up.
Others, like Austin, have done away with those laws completely. NewsTarget reported in July:
A new policy adopted by the Democratic city council in Austin, Texas, will allow anyone who is homeless to camp out in any public square or venue, a policy that we predict will serve as a magnet for homeless people (much like the policies in L.A., San Fran, and Seattle are doing).
The policy change went into effect on July 1, just 10 days after the city council decriminalized homelessness.
Residents of Austin have said the problem of homelessness and the associated filth that goes along with it has grown exponentially since the city council ditched anti-homeless ordinances.
If Austin— or any other Texas city—permits camping on city streets it will be yet another local ordinance the State of Texas will override.
At some point cities must start putting public safety & common sense first.
There are far better solutions for the homeless & citizens. https://t.co/xYezoovVCg

First off, I don’t live in Texas but I couldn’t care less about what the WHITE, LIBERAL,HIPSTER, PROGRESSIVES in Austin think or do. They created the problem, let them live in it.
However, to this point in time, has the State of Texas overriden the local ordinance and done ANYTHING about what is going on there? I think not. I used to think Abbott was definitely material for the White House. Not so much anymore.
