WASHINGTON—U.S. spy agencies in recent weeks watched as two planes belonging to China’s People’s Liberation Army landed at an airport in the United Arab Emirates and unloaded crates of undetermined materiel, according to U.S. officials who have seen the intelligence.
The transport flights, along with other signs of nascent security cooperation between Beijing and the U.A.E., a major U.S. ally in the Gulf region, have alarmed U.S. officials and cast fresh uncertainty over a multibillion-dollar sale of advanced U.S. weapons to the Emirates, the officials said.
The Biden administration said in April following a review that it would move forward with a $23 billion sale of as many as 50 F-35 fighter aircraft, 18 Reaper drones and advanced munitions, all approved in former President Donald Trump’s final hours in office.
But signs of expanding ties between Beijing and Abu Dhabi have clouded the sale’s future, U.S. officials said, as they seek guarantees about the weapons, including that the Emirates won’t allow the Chinese or others access to the latest American war-fighting technology

True.
The UAE is replacing much of its foreign work force with Chinese.
Pakistani, Indians, Filipinos, Sri Lankans and others tend to complain too much about slave labor conditions.
A few years ago, Etisalat and DU pulled this stunt:
People weren’t happy.
My understanding was that there are domestic weapons and then an export version. Why do you think the Israelis put in their own electronics and weapons? Russians don’t export their best “stuff”, I don’t think we do either.
Yeah, wouldn’t want that F-35 technology to fall into Chinese hands! /s
These clowns have a wonderful sense of humor to think it’s still a mystery to China. Hell, they probably had people working on the project.

And they still can’t build one...thankfully.
Nor do they know its full capabilities in a combined, coordinated assault. Perhaps even the details of its stealth features.
Hint: The F-35 has nearly obviated the need for AWACS. And will introduce the world to swarms of UAVs in combat.
If these planes are so good, our newest generation, why are we selling these to anyone? They should be kept in our US inventory only. Sell other countries our surplus or older jets.
With the Biden administration cozying up to Iran, I’m not surprised that the UAE is exploring options. The Biden crew has been undermining the peace/cooperation deals Trump brokered between states of the region and Israel from day one(probably even before day one.)
Lots of high paying jobs in US?
Just send Hunter over there to negotiate and their problems will melt away (for a price).
NOW they worry about China.
Speaking of China, has anyone seen Hunter?
US jobs versus potential US lives. I’d rather see us save lives. We can sell older planes, which generate US jobs, just as easily as our newest.
Interesting.....
