Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Sunday urged migrants not to travel to the United States, as the Biden administration struggles with a surge of incomers, especially unaccompanied minors, at the southern border.
"The message is quite clear, do not come. The border is closed, the border is secure," Mayorkas told host Martha Raddatz on ABC's "This Week."
"We are encouraging children not to come. Now is not the time to come. Do not come, the journey is dangerous. We are building safe, orderly and humane ways to address the needs of vulnerable children. Do not come," Mayorkas added.
On Saturday, the U.S. government was housing approximately 15,500 unaccompanied migrant minors, CBS News reported, including 5,000 teenagers and children in Border Patrol facilities not equipped to handle them.
The Border Patrol facilities are also housing migrants for 136 hours on average, which exceeds the 72-hour limit, the network noted.

And nothing says “the border is closed” quite like letting through everyone who arrives at the border who claims to be an asylum seeker, and processing them into the country without even giving them a notice to appear in court.

I know for a fact that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is a liar because I live very near the Arizona/ Mexico border. Of course they are lying about this disaster. They don’t want to own the havoc we are seeing here. Soon to spread to the rest of the disUnited States.
Talking to Deputy Sheriffs & Border Patrol Agents over the years, they agree that, in the past both the human & drug smugglers and their contraband were trying to get to either Phoenix or Tucson because both were sanctuary cities. In the past those of us who lived immediately north of I-10 did not see too many UDAs. Now we are getting them here in tiny little Mescal, AZ. Not many so far, but the numbers are increasing. It is only a matter of time before somebody is killed. Either a UDA trespassing or a resident who objects to them appropriating his property.

If they can spout this bullstalin to Americans every day, they should use it as a warning message to anyone trying to come to America. Things are rotten here. Stay home. Shelter in place. Get registered and go vote in your homelands. Speak truth to power.

Mayorkas might have said “Don’t come, the bordellos are closed” since it would mean absolutely nothing re our border problems and illegal alien invaders (a few are legit asylum seekers but not the organized caravan chain gangs from Central America.
This man is totally incompetent, which is why the Biden leftists/advisors picked him.

What an asinine statement! The statement implies that the children are the ones "deciding" to come.
Why not instead say, "We are attempting to dissuade mothers and fathers from sending their unaccompanied children into a foreign country - from essentially abandoning them!"
