Donald Trump says criminal probe into family business is in 'desperate search of a crime'

Donald Trump has slammed the New York state's attorney general for launching a criminal probe of his family business.

New York officials have opened a criminal investigation into the Trump Organization to see if it falsely reported property values to help its finances.

...Separately, the New York Times reported late on Wednesday that the office of the New York Attorney General had been criminally investigating Allen Weisselberg, the CFO of the Trump Organization, for months over tax issues, and had notified the company about it in a January letter.

The investigators have examined whether taxes were paid on fringe benefits that Trump gave him, including cars and tens of thousands of dollars in private school tuition for at least one of his grandchildren...

the only meat to the story is the specifics on Weisselberg - did he personallly pay taxes on private school tuition for his grandchildren and is he even liable if the money didn't flow through him but directly from Trump?

But a question for accountants - if a child is gifted the limit of up to $14K/yr, are any taxes due? And who would do the filing? the parents of the child? The child?

This is a Ronnie Earle fishing trip gone nationwide.
:
Ronald Dale Earle was an American politician and judge who was, from January 1977 to January 2009, the District Attorney for Travis County, Texas. He became nationally known for filing charges against House majority leader Tom DeLay in September 2005 for conspiring to violate Texas’ election law and/or to launder money

The head of the NKVD, under Stalin, Lavrentiy Beria once famously announced, “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.”

Freely and unashamedly adopted by the Democrat Socialists of this country, home-grown all.

After Stalin’s death, Beria was hauled up before the Politburo and tried for treason and other offenses, sentenced to death, and executed on December 23, 1953. During his trial, and after his death, numerous allegations arose of Beria being a serial sexual predator.

That tale has a familiar ring to it already.

There can be no doubt that he'll be indicted in Manhattan...Albany...Atlanta...and probably DC as well. There are more than a few Rat Party prosecutors looking to advance their careers in their cesspool jurisdictions.

A gift of tuition is not taxable. It is not income to the recipient and it is exempt from lifetime gift tax to the estate of the donor.

"Malicious prosecution occurs when one party has knowingly and with malicious intent initiated baseless litigation against another party.

This includes both criminal charges and civil claims, for which the cause of action is essentially the same."

Just what do they think they’ll find?

The IRS has already had his taxes under audit for at least 10 years, and they have not found a thing. I promise, we’d know it if they had.

The New York Times sent out 20 reporters in 2015 to find anything even remotely negative about Donald Trump. Ipaid attention to what they DIDN’T find...

Not one shady business deal. Not one dusgruntled former employee with a hooror story about what an awful boss he was. Nothing in the two categories they would want to find the most.

Not. One. Thing.

Now these clowns want to waste more and more millions of taxpayer dollars trying to find crimes the IRS would have spotted 10 years ago if there were any???

Political hit squad.

thanks for the clarity, Brookwood .

I wonder why the reporter didn’t check that out. A tax exemption destroys the basis for the story and the accusation and calls into question a previous story that Weisselberg might ‘cooperate’ to keep his grandchildren from being drawn into the investigation. Sounds like rumors are just being made up for giggles. The Flynn template.
